Let’s talk about the getting ready portion of your wedding day. 🤍
✨ When should your photographer arrive?
From my experience, many brides prefer I arrive toward the tail end when everyone is closer to camera-ready and we can focus on the final touches, excitement, and meaningful moments of the morning with a little bit of hair and makeup done!
✨ Create a details box ahead of time.
Gather everything your photographer may need in one place before the wedding day:
• Rings (including HIS ring!)
• Shoes
• Jewelry
• Veil
• Perfume
• Invitations
• Vows
• Family heirlooms
• Any sentimental items
Trust me, your future self will thank you when nobody is searching for a ring box 20 minutes before you leave. 😅
✨ Do you want robe or pajama photos?
These are such a fun way to capture the energy of the morning with your favorite people before everyone gets dressed and perhaps a champagne pop!
✨ Would you rather get some portraits done before the ceremony?
Many couples choose to do a first look, bridal party photos, and some family photos beforehand. This often means more time enjoying cocktail hour and celebrating with your guests afterward.
Even without a first look, individual portraits with bridesmaids and groomsmen can often be done separately before the ceremony, leaving only group photos afterward.
✨ Remember: your timeline should work for you.
A well planned timeline isn’t about squeezing more photos into your day. It’s about creating space to be present, soak in the moments, and spend time with the people you love. The best wedding photos happen when you’re fully living your day not worrying about the next photo. 🤍
