Green knitting for St Patty's of course 🍀 If you've never worked with mesh stitch, here's your fair warning: it's stretchy! (Face palm for not predicting that ahead of time) Sweater prototype #1 did not turn out the size I wanted it to, so here I am making another, in another colour. Oh well, more knitting for me 🤷

Vacation yarn hauls are the best. I love making things from yarns I pick up around the world. "I made this" is already a pretty cool thing to say when someone compliments your shirt, but tacking on "out if the yarn that I bought on my trip to " makes it even cooler. Hey friends! It's been a hot minute, but I'm still knitting over here. The end of 2018 was a much needed recovery from the craziest market season of my life and it's made me think a lot about where Ashley Erika Designs is headed. My biggest struggle is that when markets are crazy busy, I really miss knitting new things and creating more time consuming pieces. So for now I'll be knitting all the sweaters and tops and blankets, and I'll let it take me where it may. Sometimes you have to step back from the pressure of meeting expectations and do the thing you love for its own sake.
All that said, you might find my posting to be sporadic and random, and I don't think I want to apologize for that. I would rather have instagram reflect what I really want to be doing rather than feeling the pressures of needing to post and not putting up content that I find fun to create.
This project is the start of a cropped sweater pattern 🤞

If I had to choose one colour to stock endlessly... I don't think I could 🤷 A little bit of everything is the best way to go, despite my many efforts to narrow down my colour selection. Its just. Too. Hard. So here we are, one week out from and all the pretty colours are making their way into boxes in preparation for setup day! Who is excited for a weekend of festive local shopping, only 8 days away? (7 if you snagged them pre-shop tix 🎉🎉🎉)

Making the last batch of the Oxford Beanies in honey, ever 😭 I hate it when my favourite yarns and materials get discontinued. I'll have a good few left for , but if you specifically have your eye on it, don't wait!

If you've been to Third + Bird before you know what kind of shopping to expect. If you haven't, have no fear. It's fun, festive, and oh so exciting. But don't be fooled, it's also possibly the busiest room I've ever been in. Winnipeg, you sure know how to support local!
