My version of 1920s dress made from the fabric I brought from Oman. Dropped waist, loose silhouette, embroidered with beads.

1. Next in Fashion
A fast and energetic fashion competition where designers from all over the world create modern looks under time pressure. Very trend-focused, with well-known judges and lots of bold ideas.

2. Making the Cut
Another design competition, but with more emphasis on business and selling fashion. It’s filmed in different fashion cities, and I liked that one of the participants of season 3 comes from Zurich — it makes it feel a bit closer and more real.

3. Maestros de la Costura
A Spanish sewing show focused on craftsmanship and technique. It feels warm, fun, and very human. Personally, this was my favorite — más divertido y alegre, and you can really feel the love for sewing.

4. The New Look
A historical and emotional drama set during the Second World War, mostly in Paris. It follows Christian Dior and the birth of the “New Look,” with a strong focus on personal stories, relationships, and the emotional side of surviving during wartime. Coco Chanel is one of the characters, played by Juliette Binoche.

5. Aenne Burda
Short series about Аеnne Burda, famous for its sewing patterns and magazines that made sewing accessible to people at home. The series tells the story of how difficult it was for women to break into business after the Second World War in Germany. You can watch the series for free on www.ardmediathek.de/ and practise your German :)

Are those the outfits suitable for your Sylvester party? 🥂💃🏽
You can see them with your own eyes in the modern design museum in Lausanne. Kevin Germanier is a swiss fashion designer who uses recycled fabric and pearls for his creations. He manages to combine glamour and sustainability very well.

Germanier dressed the Eurovision 2025 hosts in Basel. Hazel‘s blue beaded jacket stuck in my mind;) He also designed the costumes for the performers at the Paris Olympic Games Opening and Closing ceremonies.

The exhibition is open till 22.03.2026 at the Museum of Contemporary Design and Applied Arts of the City of Lausanne (mudac).

Yayoi Kusama in Switzerland!
A lot of people on the exhibition told me that I wear a very well matching dress 😄 I made it 9 years ago.

Yes, that infinity room with snakes was a lot of fun. Other paintings I saw earlier in Porto some years ago.
These time I was considering her works from embroidery perspective. What could I use as embroidery pattern? Or just inspiration.

I have big embroidery plans for the next year 😉

I would like to invite you to create some unique gifts together!
I still have dried lavender from my garden and a desire to share with you my favorite way to sew and decorate herb sachets. I’ve prepared fabric, lace, and embroidery patterns to spark your creativity.

This workshop is suitable also for beginners — we’ll cut the fabric, embroider by hand or machine, sew the bags, fill them with fragrant lavender buds, and close everything neatly. Everyone will be able to make one or two sachets.
