A little over a week ago, on June 19, the International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict was celebrated. From that day an image began to form in the head, the image that you can see now reflected in this illustration.
A large number of things served as inspiration for me during the creation of this image, but the main point is the strength of the revolutionary woman, the revolutionary COLOMBIAN woman, each and every one of them, represented here by Policarpa Salavarrieta who gave her life over two hundred years ago, for her ideals of a free and fair Colombia. And today, a large numbers of women take the streets to continue this fight for equality and peace in our land, and again they are attacked by the brute force of tyranny.
I invite you to share and learn about the current situation in Colombia. And to contribute, in whatever way possible, to those brave people who go out to fight for our rights every day.
THE REVOLUTION WILL BE A WOMAN OR IT WILL NOT BE
(If you have time listen to the song SIN MIEDO, it is the soundtrack of this image)
