A new companion.

Just how I like it, a mix of different styles.

However, perhaps the best feature with this jacket is that I can wear it in a sunny Italy or in a rainy London thanks to the fairly lightweight fabric from Reda 1865, which also happens to be water resilient.

Pre-View: Droplet Protection.

In 2015 I was running through the rainy streets of Paris with my friend.

We were quite far from our hotel with not much shelter on the way, so we decided to run for it.

My jacket, by now a faithful companion throught eight years, kept me surprisingly dry even though it is not really a rainjacket.

The Exterior.

We project ourselves to others through our actions, the way we dress and how we hold ourselves. What we say is our way of making ourselves understood by others. Yet, for those who understand, our non verbal way of communication can say just as much.

The Formal Attire.

A formal dresscode gives very little to no space for individuality.

However, since I have no interest in conforming to the norm, I break the rules.

A dinner jacket traditionally paired with a set of all black accessories like a bow-tie, studs, bracers, waistcoat or girdle has here been replaced by the even more formal white tie accessories.

The Power Suit.

Power can come in many shapes or forms.

Although external appearance communicate to others what we would like to project. Power, as many other things, comes from within. It is in the confidence in ones conviction of ability.

It's not always that power comes from the expected source..

Listening before speaking.

In life I believe in the importance of taking time and listening to others, a lot can be learnt through listening before speaking.

In my work I take the part of the one who listens, my clients are the narrators. I listen to their preferences and needs after which I find myself in a guiding part where I try to find garment designs and alterations to fit their lifestyle.

To think about what's needed further on gives you a proactive approach rather than finding yourself in a reactive situation.

After some time away I am looking into 2021.

A companion through time.

I bought this jacket in early 2013, soon eight years ago. Since then it has been accompanying me through the years, on my way home after nights out in London, kept me dry on the rainy streets of Paris as me and my friend ran back to the hotel. Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, Italy and Switzerland, this jacket has gently held me in as I experience life unfold infront of me.

Although I hope to still have this jacket also further on, I have started on a new made to measure project and I'll bring you along the way. 😊
