MARíA BOUVIER es una marca de indumentaria femenina sustentable. Nuestras prendas son diseñadas y realizadas con amor y responsabilidad, sin dañar nuestra medio ambiente. Hechas en fibras orgánicas, coloreadas artesanalmente con tintes naturales y confeccionadas por mano de obra local de una forma justa. El teñido de nuestros textiles es la esencia de nuestras piezas. Esta técnica ancestral nos pe

rmite crear nuestros propios colores usando flores, plantas, minerales y desechos orgánicos entre otras cosas. Disfrutamos mucho del proceso artesanal y valoramos las imperfecciones que del mismo se generan, dando un carácter único a cada una de las prendas. Nuestra propuesta es volver un poco a los orígenes desde una visión actual para crear colecciones únicas. Ayúdanos a dirigir juntos la industria de la moda hacia un futuro más sano para todos.

Hi 2024!

I wanted to start this new ‘timeline’sharing -once more- our most important values and the essence of this brand.

Maria Bouvier is a Uruguayan label born out of the passion for color, for the environment and for fashion of its founder, me, María Alejandra Bouvier. Learning about natural dyes was the beginning and it showed me the way to do things differently, according to my values.

Every piece is made of certified organic cotton, handcrafted at local small sewing studios and colored using natural materials such as onion skin, hibiscus flowers, roses, avocado stones, acacia flowers, turmeric, different wood barks and so much more.

This products I’ve made have been bestsellers in two of the most renowned retailers of the US.

Now, I’m going to be part of “Elevate” a collective we created with @‌texturable and @‌uruthyst to present our pieces at in New York City!

“At “Elevate” we have the mission to create an outstanding experience; each piece of “Elevate” represents a journey to the best version of yourself, to your essence and your most genuine values.

Hola nuevamente, ¿cómo están? Hace unos cuantos meses que no aparezco por acá y el motivo principal es la bombona que ven conmigo en la foto 🥰 Después de 8 medes de estar dedicada a mi bebé (y a otro trabajo) recargué energías para volver a María Bouvier, un proyecto que me fascina y amo pero que decidí que poner en pausa por un rato.
Ahora me dieron muchas ganas de volver a mis teñidos, de volver a diseñar, así que acá estoy para afrontar nuevamente este desafío, ojalá acompañada por todos ustedes.

Hello again, how are you? It’s been a while since I’ve been here and the main reason is the beauty you see with me in the photo 🥰 After 8 months of being dedicated to my baby (and another job) I recharged my energy to return to María Bouvier, a project that fascinates me and I love but I decided to put it on pause for a while.
Now I really want to go back to my dyes, to design again, so here I am to face this challenge again, hopefully accompanied by all of you.

Two weeks ago I had the opportunity to present my brand at the WTO Public Forum in Geneva. It was very inspiring to hear the stories of other female entrepreneurs from around the world and to be part of the conversation in sessions in which not only topics such as equal opportunities, sustainability, women in international trade, among others, were discussed, but there was also works to solve these problems and provide support. For me it was a moment to remember why I do what I do and fill myself with strength to continue working on the growth of this project.
I want to take this opportunity to thank the many people and organizations that made this possible for María Bouvier.

Hace dos semanas atrás tuve la oportunidad de estar presentando mi marca en el WTO Public Forum en Ginebra. Fue muy inspirador conocer las historias de otras emprendedoras del mundo y ser parte de la conversación en sesiones en las que no solo se habla de temas como la igualdad de oportunidades, la sustentabilidad, las mujeres en el comercio internacional, entre otros, sino que se trabaja para solucionar estas problemáticas y dar apoyo. Fue un momento para recordar por qué hago lo que hago y llenarme de fuerza para seguir trabajando en el crecimiento de este proyecto.
Quiero aprovechar para agradecer a muchas personas y organizaciones que hicieron esto posible para María Bouvier
