Preparing a class on continuous innovation in luxury and innovation, I came across an article by Jack Stanley discussing the shift in luxury paradigm from traditional ideology and from exclusivity to inclusivity. But can luxury ever be truly inclusive? It's a case of if you know you know, the quiet luxury of recent years such as embodied in the series "Succession". Instead luxury brands like the Row or Loewe can share their capital culture with consumers. What do you think?

London's Fashion and Textile Museum is showing The Biba Story, 1964-1975 until September. Fascinating exhibition showing how Barbara Hulaniki grew from a tiny boutique off Kensington Church Street to take over the entire Derry and Tom's department store in Kensington High street. First concept store selling everything from clothes to make up to furniture.
Guided tours on Wednesday afternoons where visitors are invited to share their memories of Biba. Not to be missed.https://fashiontextilemuseum.org/

Have you visited Geneva's Museum of Art and History and it's latest exhibition: The order of things?
I was struck by a replica of the tower of Brussels in laser-cut stainless steel by artist and curator Wim Delvoye, paired with a model of the Brunswick monument, the emblematic mausoleum embodying the will to pass into the next world and permanence in this one. As with the Ancient Egyptians, we see how ostentation, excess and expense provide a certain immortality, along with beauty.

Luxury is different for everyone. Each definition has in common the procurement of pleasure and happiness that comes from a luxury purchase like a holiday in November. Think revenge buying after Covid for example. For me it has to include swimming in a warm sea when it's 5° at home. What is it for you?
