The advancement of technology in Swiss watch making is often staggering to me ! For example combining a certain percentage of gold with carbon makes the material harder and unlikely to scratch when used on a watch case for example. And yet it still shines like gold ! Perfect for cases for example. We saw that yesterday on a manufacturing watch tour with a detailed explanation.

As we come to the end of the year it's good for all of us at Swiss watch tours to reflect on the year we've had. Well it's been brilliant and the guides and I are all delighted at all the positive feed back even though it hasn't all ended up on Trip Adviser !
So what is there for next year for you for a first visit or as one of our repeat visitors?
We will still have the ever popular Day Visits, Two Day Tours and seasonal tours. Now with additional starting off points we can take watch enthusiasts from Geneva, Lausanne, Neuchatel and Zurich as well as other Cities and towns but using the train is advised.
For next year we will have 1. more manufacturers 2. watch making courses 3. join another single person for the day 4. lectures on gemology - about diamonds and precious stones 5. meet a watch maker for dinner 6. the Morgan cars watch tour in la Chaux-de-Fonds after the le Mans 24 hours race in France 7. talks on the history and traditions of watch making right here in the region 8. the SIHH in Geneva 9. Baselworld and more ! 2018 will be an exciting year again !

Taking watch enthusiasts and collectors to see the "where and how" of watch manufacturing is our primary business. We do this with various tours such as the Day Tour. It's by having exclusive access to the top makers which gives us a unique tour operation.
For 2017 we will start the year with an organised visit to the (normally closed to the public) SIHH in Geneva.
The launch pad for new, innovative and beautiful time pieces it will be available for just a few on a Swiss watch tour.

The Day Tour is our most popular watch tour when we take visitors exclusively to see the "where & how" of fine mechanical watch making. Do you think a half day tour would be popular focusing just on the manufacturer with full insight into the process?

Most of the watch tours we conduct are to just one manufacturer on (for example) a Day Tour. A minimum of two, maximum of four visitors. Now imagine if you could visit FOUR on just one day, yes just one day in November !

The result of the EU Referendum has disrupted the financial markets, exchange rates etc. In Switzerland they have endured the "peg" being taken off the Swiss Franc v the Euro making exports more expensive. The loss of Russia, China etc as markets has affected their business hugely so post "Brexit" is this a good time to buy an expensive watch here ? An absolute "Yes"! Is it a good time to book a watch tour to see and hear about how these fabulous watches are made? Another "Yes"! Will I be able to buy with a discount if I am on a tour - we'll what do you think? !!!
