With all it's ports, India today could save several thousand tons of c02 emissions a week from being emitted using freight trains instead of dry van diesel trucks if they would use all their vacant freight train terminals and make containers available. Interestingly it all lies in the hand of buying agencies, factories and the main decision taken by a buyer. Being aware of this we could pool this cargo by at least starting with a few cubics and make more c02 efficient changes by managing supply chain logistics when it comes to inland haulage. This has been the mission of many corporates but still not been accomplished. I hope the government will step in soon. New Delhi has been marked deadly and highly toxic. Would it not be a step in the right direction?
