Between Christmas and New Year, I like to slow down and reflect.

I’m currently listening more deeply to textile crafters and how we learn, practice, struggle, and grow.

Yesterday I met my sister. We often share with each other our skills, tips and other information on textiles.

This time I told her of having taught a friend of mine, recently, how to make a flat band with a Kumihimo disk.

Short after teaching my friend, I taught my granddaughter how to make a very simple Kumihimo braid.

My sister taught me how to make the braid she normally makes for keyholders.

I taught my sister how to make a braid using an eight pointed star.

Here I share the braid my sister taught me.

It is amazing how beautiful it is sharing textile skills with one another!

Hours and hours sitting in the car.

I use the tail at the beginning to mark every 10th row.
