Am Rande des Flusses Limmat, in einer magischen Stadt, die mit schneebedeckten Bergen und roten schrägen Dächern geschmückt ist, lebt ein Vogelbaby namens Eulina. Klein und niedlich und doch voller Unfug und Wunder. Vom Fenster seines gemütlichen Nestes auf dem Dach des Grossmünsters schaut das Eulenbaby nach draußen und beobachtet Tag und Nacht das Treiben in der Stadt. Morgen, am ersten Frühlingstag, wird sie zum ersten Mal nach draußen gehen! Sie schließt die Augen und träumt von kommenden Abenteuern. Endlich ist der Morgen da. Eulina springt mit voller Vorfreude auf die Reise aus dem Bett.
„Eine Jacke, um dich warm zu halten“, sagt Mama Eule.
„Und einen Schal für den Wind“, sagt Papa Eule.
„Und mein rotes Hemd, weil es mir gefällt“, sagt Eulina fröhlich, während sie mit ihren flugbereiten Flügeln flattert.
