From Addis Ababa to Zürich
We are Desta (“joy” in Amharic), a Swiss brand with love for high quality design and beautiful details. Our textiles are unisex, designed in Zürich and handwoven by talented Ethiopian artisans in Addis Ababa with locally produced cotton. Though inspired by traditional Ethiopian models, we are experimenting with bold colour combinations, textures and shapes. Our textiles come in limited editions of 100 pieces each and they are a luxury you can afford.

«SYMPHONY IN THE STREETS OF ADDIS»
Eyerusalem A Jiregna stellt vom 23. Mai – 9. Juni 2024 in der Photobastei Zürich ihre Werke aus.

Wir laden dich herzlich zur Vernissage am 23. Mai um 18 Uhr in Anwesenheit der Fotografin ein.

Ihre Bilder drehen sich um den lebendigen Alltag in den Strassen von Addis Abeba und zeigen oft stimmungsvolle und einfühlsame Porträts der arbeitenden Menschen, die sich durch eine brillante Vielfalt an Farben und Texturen auszeichnen. Ihre Fotos wurden an verschiedenen Fotofestivals gezeigt und in Galerien ausgestellt und u.a. in The Guardian, The New York Times und in diversen afrikanischen Zeitungen publiziert.
