1st in ribs!
Can't remember a time I got first place in anything!
A huge thank you to all of the people who have helped me, a special thank you to Steven Cook and Jamie Ange Urwin for the straight answers to lets face it, some pretty unusual questions, to Chris Tolcher for the encouragement to enter and everyone in the barbecue community!

P.s Don't ask about the chicken unless you want a tragedy to rival Shakespeare!

Chicken is pretty much a vegetable anyway!

Key learnings:
1. No herbs or debris in your injection.
2. Don't loose temp while resting. (Cambro would have been great!)
3. Double glazing may be building code, but noone likes a toffee chicken.
4. Preparation is the separation.
5. Trust the process
6. JUST FCKN SEND IT!

Better late than never! Such an awesome Raro Fire and Food Festival this year!
A HUGE thank you to all involved, the volunteers, sponsors, competitors and general BBQ public, without you and your inputs the event would not be what it was... We had an awesome SCA effort with 18 competitors- some stunning steaks and ancillaries, golden tickets, and awesome prizes followed by an epic display of competitive comradery with the low and slow RSC Pitmaster competition. Some real head turners and new blood coming through the ranks, but with 1st Place Chicken 1st Place Ribs 1st Place Pork and 1st Place Brisket our reigning Champ Monemone Barbecue took out Grand champion spot yet again- a Hat trick for the Manahiki Legends!
