It's Christmas Eve!! 🎄 In larger Chinese cities, Christmas (圣诞节 Shèngdàn Jié) is becoming more widely celebrated as a commercial holiday to shop and spend with friends. As with the main Chinese festival, Chinese New Year, Christmas Eve celebrations are considered more important than Christmas Day itself. Christmas Eve is called Píng'ān yè (平安夜, literally Peaceful Evening) and friends often gift each other apples in festive paper or boxes. Why apples?
