The difference in bathing habits between China and the West has to do with land resources, as the West has a small population with abundant fuel resources and can boil hot water very quickly. In the past, charcoal was only available to the rich and most people had problems heating their homes. In addition to the large number of families in China, there were queues for baths, and in the morning it was time to work, so bathing was a waste of time and delayed people's work, whereas in the evening people had more time.
