1% for our oceans CHIA is a bikini brand from Costa Rica that was created by two sisters in 2015.

They started their business importing swimwear. With an urge to create a more sustainable option, CHIA’s own swimwear label was launched in 2019, it has all the design and high-end manufacturing qualities as other brands, but it’s sustainable and more accessible! CHIA uses Econyl®, an Italian Ribbed Fabric made with at least 72% Regenerated Nylon. CHIA’s core value revolves around providing more c

onscious consumer options and being avant-garde sustainable fashion. In the Flagship store located in San Jose, Costa Rica they hold space for their own brand and many other ethical brands from around the globe. CHIA developed a plastic-free motto to be more mindful of the environment as well as their initiative 1% For The Oceans in which they donate 1% of their monthly total sales to Misión Tiburón, a local marine conservation non-profit organization.
