Mongolian sheep, goats, yak and camels are raised naturally, and spend most of their lives in open, unfenced pastures, making the wool organic. It goes without saying that the Nomadic herders of Mongolia do not practice mulesing.
Wool from Mongolia is considered to be amongst the highest quality wool in the world. The animals are able to yield superior quality wool fibers because of the harsh winter temperatures, at times -40 degrees. These animals yield some of the best quality natural wool fibers in the world. The animals graze in the vast steppes of Mongolia and are free from mulesing practices.
Biodegradable
When disposed of, natural wool fibre takes only a few years to decompose and can even be used as a fertilizer.
Breathable and insulating
(thermobalance) Wool absorbs and releases up to 30% water vapour into the atmosphere, keeping you warm in winter and cool in summer. Wool insulates well, providing and retaining warmth.
Durable and elastic
Wool fibre can be bent 20,000 times without breaking and still have the power to recover and return to its natural shape. Quality wool garments look good for longer.
Easy care
Wool can be dry cleaned or washed while still retaining a small amount of natural oils. Wool fibre resists dirt and grease, and can be shaken easily off the garment.
Flame retardant
Wool fibre has a higher ignition threshold than many other fibres and is flame retardant up to 600ºC. It also produces less toxic fumes in a fire.
Multi-climatic
Wool acclimatizes to its surroundings.
Natural and renewable
Wool is grown not made; animals grow a new fleece every year. Wool products also use less energy than man-made fibres during manufacture.
Non-allergenic – Antibacterial
Wool is not known to cause allergies and does not promote the growth of bacteria. Wool, in general, prevents bacteria from living on sweat, thereby reducing unpleasant odours.
Pilling
Our wool is natural and organic, and has not undergone treatments to enhance its features. Pilling is a natural inherent characteristic of wool. Use a cashmere comb to remove the fuzz balls and your garment is as good as new.
Sun-safe
Wool has natural high UV protection
