Toronto, Canada — 1970 vs 2021.
This is the St. Lawrence Market neighbourhood, one of Toronto’s oldest urban areas. In the 1960s and 1970s, large parts of the district were covered by surface parking lots after older buildings had been cleared.
Today, the same area around Berczy Park and the historic Gooderham “Flatiron” Building has been transformed into a dense, walkable public space with restored streets, new housing, trees, and one of Toronto’s most recognizable urban parks.
