In just two days, we will contribute with our knowledge on textile waste management (collection, sorting and recycling), at one of Textile ETP's masterclasses in Brussels.
They are a membership-based NGO and work as a network for textile related research. Check out their current masterclass on circular and bio-based textiles here:https://cdn2.assets-servd.host/deranged-cormorant/production/Circular-biobased-European-Masterclass-Brochure_2022-3.pdf :51469

Is it art? Or recycled shoes? 🤷‍♀️
Let's say it's both 👞🎨

What you're admiring here are close-ups of old recycled shoes in the process of becoming unique furniture pieces for public spaces.
With our partner Millimetres (https://millimetre.uk.net/) we get to use the technology of our shoe recycling machine to bring creative and innovative ideas to life - and safe worn out shoes from incineration and landfills in the process.

If you have just as much at heart as we do when it comes to clothes and the apparel industry, we recommend you to read more below!

With the Sorting For Circularity Europe project lead by and , we and partners have proven the great potential of so-called textile waste when properly collected and processed. This week, we also got to celebrate our successful cooperation at the Fashion for Good Symposium in Amsterdam 🎉

While the conclusions give hope for a more sustainable future for the textile sector, it must be stressed that much more resources are needed to establish a strong and comprehensive textile recycling strategy in the EU. Let's build the infrastructure together!

We are proud to have been part of the important project and would love for you to see the results for yourselves:

Ever wonder how to dispose of your wardrobe once the love is as washed out as its colors? 💔

Of the 100 billion garments produced each year, 92 tonnes end up in landfills.

So instead of throwing them in the trash, find your way to an I:CO take-back bin and take comfort in knowing that we collect your items to be reused or recycled, not wasted. Besides, doing it will get you a discount on your next purchase, so what are you waiting for? 💙

When it comes to cotton, used is always better.

To produce 1 kg of virgin cotton an estimated 20,000 liters of water are needed. This doesn’t go well with the fact that a quarter of world's population doesn’t have access to drinking water.

Recycled cotton yarn is a viable alternative to safe resources and protect the environment. Studies show that 0,5 ha of agricultural land can be saved, 6600 kg of CO2 equivalents can be reduced, and 2783 cubic metres of water can be saved by using 1000 kg of the recycled cotton yarns.

With our automated sorting-for-recycling set-up, we extract unwearable cotton garments from our worldwide collection and turn them into secondary raw material for recycling.

Recycled cotton prevents additional textile waste and, due to our color sorting, does not even need to be died anew!

Orange isn’t the new black: high-quality colour sorting is 🔥

Did you know that we were one of the first companies to elevate the process of "sorting for recycling" from lab stage to a scalable industrial process?
Fiber-to-fiber recycling requires a highly accurate sorting process.
Thanks to our material recognition engine, we guarantee a precise, high-quality sorting and evaluation according to the international waste hierarchy: reuse before recycling.
