Skincare mistakes to avoid 🧴
⠀
▫️ Exfoliating too much
Exfoliating more than 2-3 times a week will cause more harm than good! The skin has a natural barrier function which begins to weaken if you exfoliate too much. The skin is then no longer protected against any bacteria trying to pe*****te it, resulting in breakouts.
⠀
▫️Not using a moisturizer
Even if you have oily skin, you still need to moisturize. Oiliness is caused by an excess of sebum, often due to a lack of hydration in the skin. This is only going to get worse if you don& #39;t use a moisturizer!
⠀
▫️Touching your face
It is so hard not to touch your face but it is important that we try not to! Think about how many surfaces you touch per day, and then about how many times you unknowingly touch your face out of habit? Unless we constantly wash our hands, we are transferring bacteria to our skin even without knowing we& #39;re doing it!
⠀
▫️Following the trends
Sometimes a product might be trending in the media, but why? It might not be popular for the right reason (pretty packaging or a celebrity) so don& #39;t allow yourself to follow the trends without properly researching the product and its ingredients. Is it suitable for your skin?
⠀
▫️Sleeping in makeup
An obvious mistake really, but we need to cover everything. When you sleep, your skin heals and regenerates from any damage caused during the day. How can it do that when it has a layer of heavy makeup in its way? No matter how tired you are, remove your makeup. You will thank yourself in the morning.
⠀
▫️Neglecting the neck
This isn& #39;t an obvious one that many people know about. The neck is one of the first areas to tell your age, but by including the neck in your normal routine is is prolonged for as long as possible! You don& #39;t have to do anything special besides taking your product: further down onto the neck & chest.
⠀
▫️Blindly choosing products
Make sure you do your research and check the ingredients before purchasing a product, especially a pricey one that may or may not be worth the money.
