Today was a very special day, as we said goodbye to one of the most special and sparkling people, Carolin.
I met Carolin only two years ago, although we had heard about each other for a long time through many people around us. So when we finally met, it felt very natural to connect. Today I learned that this was one of her beautiful qualities: making people feel close, seen and welcome immediately.
When I told her about the idea of bringing our first showroom at the Louvre to life, she was instantly excited — not only with her beautiful collection, .world, but also by bringing into this special location and helping us create the beautiful space we have now. It took her about five minutes to say yes to the project. Since then, we also continued this wonderful collaboration with her husband Michael.
She brought light into an already beautiful place and made it even more beautiful.
We will continue our cooperation with Schönbuch in Paris — and, in her memory, we will also continue to show Casa Nata. It will shine brighter than ever in our new light-filled location.
So please come and see us in Paris.
Today, during this meaningful farewell, I also understood even more how much Carolin supported the people around her — without ever asking for anything in return. That is exactly what I felt with her, too.
She was one of those rare people who made life, and living, better.
Her father closed the heartwarming ceremony with the words that she lived a happy life.
May that be an inspiration to all of us: people come into our lives for a reason.
