“Mareike Lienau’s handcrafted pieces draw viewers in through striking combinations of color, texture, and pattern, as well as frequently unexpected forms.
Upon closer inspection, onlookers are further delighted to discover the stories behind each work – thoughtful and optimistic narratives that encourage self-reflection, connectivity, and social and environmental responsibility.”

/ Clouds _from brief to object
a bespoken rug

A personal commission.
A place for focus, withdrawal and renewal.

At the center, a deep blue field.
A space that opens.
Like sky. Like ocean. Like breath.

Clouds drift across the surface,
light, ungraspable,
like thoughts that come and go.

Lines turn into waves.
Movement without direction.
Rhythm without force.

Around it, a geometric frame.
Clear. Grounding. Holding.
A structure that contains the flow.

Colors carry meaning.
Blue for depth and stillness.
Red for energy and life.
Green for growth.
Gold for clarity.
White for purity and balance.

Hand-knotted in Nepal.
Rooted in tradition, translated into a contemporary space.

The object becomes a point of contact.
Between body and ground.
Between movement and stillness.
Between place and inner landscape.

/ feel.ambiguity fiberstools -
co creation as connection

Co creation is an emotional bridge.

feel.Ambiguity is a family of three stools, developed in collaboration with Nepal Knotcraft.
Each piece carries its own story, shaped by material, technique and hand.

The objects invite you to embrace ambiguity.
Not to define everything.
But to explore.

Between design and making, a connection emerges that extends beyond the object.
A global, interconnected narrative.

/ FRED is not a pouf.

It is a spatial anchor.
A point of contact between body, craft
and architecture.

Created for spaces that need presence,
not decoration.

Design is attitude.
This decision made visible.

Design is attitude.
Before an object enters the room, a decision is made. About color. About atmosphere. About authorship.

- ist part of a project.

Saturated blue-greens, sun-washed tans, and layered tropical motifs come together with natural textures, rhythmic patterns, and a touch of geometry, creating a cabana that feels immersive, vibrant, and unmistakably Miami.

/ textil Poster

Surface is not skin.
It is where material, body and space meet.

My textile posters are not images.
They are surfaces of relation
made from wool, time and touch.

Designed from the place outward.
Produced through fair, long-term collaboration.
Meant to stay, not to decorate.

Point of Contact.
Where surface becomes experience.
…………………………..

In fairer, langfristiger Zusammenarbeit gefertigt.
Gedacht zum Bleiben, nicht zur Dekoration.

Point of Contact.
Wo Oberfläche zu Erfahrung wird.
