002: a personal tip! I don't buy on impulse any more. It's taken me ages to train myself out of wanting a new outfit for every occasion (I still do sometimes, I'm far from perfect), but my shopping habits are getting better. I try not to shop online- it's riskier in terms of impulse buying and waste- how many 'new with tags' clothes are sat in the bottom of my wardrobe that I didn't return three years ago? Too many. I will make an exception for independent, sustainable brands that don't have resources for alternative sales platforms. Now, if I see something I want in a shop, I give it the two week test. If I'm still thinking about it, I'll go back and try it on. If I like it and will wear it until it needs repairing, and then repair it, I'll get it. If it's too 'on trend' (shape, colour) and will look dated quickly, it's out. If I can't use it in different situations and with other garments in my wardrobe, it's probably out. Having said all of this; don't be afraid. Try on a style you never thought would suit you- the day I tried a wrap dress was revolutionary. Have fun, fashion is expression and make that expression a reflection of your Ultimate Self, however you feel best.

DON'T LET ANYONE TELL YOU CAN'T MIX PATTERNS. Some of the best people I've ever known have broken all of the pattern 'rules'. Stripes and spots? I do. Animal clash? Always. Same pattern, different colours? Inspired. Anything you feel your best self in will look good. Mankinis not necessarily included in this statement but you do you, I support it entriely.

An average pair takes 1,800 GALLONS of water, much of which is pumped back into water sources used for drinking water. This water usually contains heavy metals such as lead. You don't have to swear off jeans! But why not invest in a new Levis Water

HEY GUESS WHAT
you probably know by now, you've heard it all, but it's super important that we're paying attention to our consumer habits- now more than ever! The fashion industry is one of the top 5 highest polluting industries in the world today (its ranking at 2nd highest is being hotly debated as we speak), but there are easy things we can do to shrink our personal footprint! Clothes should last years, not a season. And I get it- we've all been raised and conditioned to feel like we're not cool, not enough if we're not keeping up. I've been researching this for years, and I'm going to post some little snippets of info you may find interesting or helpful. I don't want to preach- I'm certainly not perfect! But life isn't about perfection, it's about trying and hopefully a little education can help us all in the long run :)

I am an experienced pattern cutter, apparel designer and seamstress. I was trained at the University for the Creative Arts (rated as one of the best fashion schools in the world) and have worked in the industry since.

I offer a variety of services- anything from a simple repair or a custom outfit to one on one tuition. I am particular interested in collaborations- please get in touch if you have a proposal!

Pricing for repair and alterations;
€5 minimum per garment (also covers the first 30 minutes work)
€5 for every half hour slot after this (for example, if your work takes 45 minutes, it will cost you €10)

I am happy to meet at a convenient location and at a suitable time for us both. If you would prefer me to visit you at your home or other location I charge a €5.60 surcharge to cover my travel 😊 this helps me keep my prices super low!

Larger jobs are priced on an individual basis.
