Summer Style: love it or leave it?
Which season makes you feel more at ease with your wardrobe?
Some people love autumn and winter for the layering, warm tones, and cozy textures and I’m certainly one of them. I always look forward to pulling out lovely sweaters, a great coat, and some boots once the summer heat fades.
But summer styling can be just as much fun! That said, I know many of my clients find dressing for the warmer months a bit more challenging. With lighter fabrics, change of colours, prints and more skin on show, it can feel a little daunting.
The good news? Summer fashion has evolved beyond just “too short”, „too long“ or “too wide” cuts. One of my personal favourites is the rise of linen and linen blends. These breathable, natural fibres have taken over the high street in recent years and for good reason. Linen is a more sustainable option that’s stylish, practical, and wonderfully robust.
Yes, it wrinkles, but that’s part of its charm. I always remind clients: linen will crease, and that’s perfectly fine. Don’t stress about the ironing. Once we all accept a little bit of crinkle, it’s all good!
Linen now comes in so many great pieces: wide-leg trousers, blazers, shirts, tops, even T-shirts. It feels light and airy in the heat, and pairs beautifully e.g. with denim or jersey. Best of all, it suits all body types and always looks effortlessly elegant.
Of course, linen is just one part of the picture. With the right cuts, colours, prints, and textures, summer fashion can be just as versatile and flattering as any other season.
If you‘re struggling with your current summer wardrobe, then get in touch, I’d love to hear from you!
Yours,
Miriam
