With a slight delay, we wish you an ULTRA fantastic New Year 2026 filled with love, peace, hope, humanity, and justice. While the design industry in Germany continues to stumble and tries to save itself with desperate discount battles, we focused on our core business over the past year and probably achieved our best economic result in 20 years. Fortunately, this gives us the independence to say what needs to be said and the means to donate—together with our customers—to UNICEF, thereby alleviating at least a little of the suffering of the children in gaza.
Sadly, we now have to repeat ourselves for the third year in a row. Genocide, wars, and displacement are taking place before our very eyes. Whether in Gaza, the West Bank, Ukraine, Sudan, and now also Venezuela. They are led by racist despots under the guise of democracy. They are supported—especially in Gaza and the West Bank—by our hypocritical government, which prefers to side with a far-right, racist apartheid government instead of enforcing international law, to which it is committed.
But there is also hope and resistance. People are taking to the streets despite increased police violence and demonstrating against injustice. People are publicly showing solidarity with the oppressed without fear, even though the media and social networks are trying to suppress it. People are changing political realities with their vote, most recently in New York. Doctors and humanitarian organizations continue to fight for every life, even when it is once again at risk around the next corner due to hunger or violence.
These people give us hope for the future of our children and the world. These people are our heroes.
