‘Flak’ jacket with modular liner and carrying straps in vintage water-resistant cotton

A/W 1999 is seen by many as one of Helmut Lang's most groundbreaking seasons. One of the finest examples of Lang’s affinity for vintage militaria, this jacket is based on the United States Army's ‘M69’ flak vest issued during the Vietnam war. While the sleeveless original featured protective metal plates, Lang's version is crafted from aged cotton that has been filled with goose down, creating a simple and sculptural silhouette. Functional details on the torso have also been maintained but rendered in an asymmetric arrangement. A removable padded liner vest adds extra insulation, while the designer’s signature straps on the interior can be used to carry the piece like a backpack.

New in: layered trench coat in vintage cotton, S/S 1982.
A rather serious piece that combines elements of historical military capes, mid-century workwear and the cutting-edge sporty detailing that characterises Armani's work from this period. Note the bias cut sleeves which extend towards the body to form curvilinear yoke panels. 📌

Some moments from the Vogue Closet event in Berlin last weekend. We showcased highlight pieces from our archive, including a historical timeline of rare dresses and a bunch of other cool stuff. It was fun!
Thanks to and team for the support and everyone who visited, engaged with the pieces, asked questions and made this exhibition such a joy to be part of.

Hallöchen! Today we're part of this year's VOGUE Closet event: a one-day exhibition dedicated to fashion history. We took over one of the location's massive rooms to showcase highlights from our archive. 💐⚘️

What to expect? Some of the most important pieces in ENDYMA's collection, from a full historical overview of Helmut Lang to early Armani, rare Balenciaga by Ghesquiere and everything in between!

The exhibition is open to the public from 11:30-5pm and we will be there to walk visitors through it. Address in the last slide. 👔

At some point six or seven years ago, and visited ENDYMA's first archive showroom in Athens. Apparently, they were doing a new issue in a new format about Greece.

The thing about Fantastic Man is that it's one of the few fashion magazines out there that is not susceptible to some form of posturing. The writing is intelligent without trying to prove its sophistication. It is genuine, humorous and seductive. It never feels like a reheated press release after reading. For many of us in fashion, being featured in its pages is a career milestone.

Indeed, the resulting interview with Gert remains as one of the most important things that have ever been written about my work (and life).

A big thanks to the Fantastic Man team for allowing ENDYMA's little vintage collection to flourish in their pages. Congratulations on 20 years of issues!
