SMM 2026. Not every exhibit can be carried in with one hand. ⚓

Yesterday, we put one of the last pieces in place before SMM opens its doors: a heavy-lifting sling with an MBL of 2,000 tonnes.

Synthetic rope solutions are known for their low weight. But when you're operating in the maritime world, even fibre-based solutions can reach impressive dimensions.

With the help of our exhibition team and some careful coordination, the sling was lifted into place and is now ready for visitors.

The result is hanging above our stand, ready to be inspected up close.

From mooring and towing to cargo lashing and heavy lifting, we're looking forward to discussing the challenges shaping today's maritime industries.

The Austrian Youth Sailing Championships are underway – and Gleistein is proud to support the event and Austria’s successful young sailing talents.

From 24–28 August 2026, young sailing talents will come together for the Austrian Youth Sailing Championships, with the first races starting on 25 August.

Austria has a remarkably strong generation of young sailors who are already celebrating impressive successes in international competitions.

Together with our partner ropes expert, we’re proud to support the championships and these young athletes on their way forward.

Because supporting sailing isn’t only about top-level performance. It’s also about investing in the future of the sport – encouraging young sailors to develop their skills, push their limits and gain valuable experience.

We wish all participants exciting races, great moments and, of course, fair winds! 🌊

Reflective fibres are integrated directly into the rope's protective cover. When illuminated by a flashlight or other light source, they produce a striking reflective sparkle that highlights the rope's entire length and makes its path immediately visible in the dark.

A reason to celebrate! 🥈⛵

What a race!

At this year’s Peter Gast Schiffahrtsregatta, the Gleistein crew sailed aboard ReläXX – and crossed the finish line in an amazing second place! 🎉

Great sailing, strong teamwork and exactly the right amount of competitive spirit made for a fantastic day on the Baltic Sea.

But this regatta is about more than results. It’s about sharing our passion for sailing and spending time with friends, customers and partners from across the maritime industry.

A huge congratulations to the entire ReläXX crew – and thank you for having us on board!

Ready to ReläXX? Not quite. It's race time. ⛵⚓

Today, members of the Gleistein team will be taking part in the 43rd Peter Gast Schiffahrtsregatta aboard ReläXX.

From the Schlei estuary across the Baltic Sea to Ærøskøbing, Denmark, around 110 yachts will compete in one of the maritime industry's most traditional sailing events.

ReläXX is equipped with Gleistein rope solutions supplied through our trusted partner network, and we're delighted to see our products put to the test in a competitive sailing environment.

For us, it's the perfect combination of sailing, competition and time spent with friends, customers and partners from across the maritime world.

Sommerfest 2026 unter dem Motto farbenfroh – und genau so war’s! 🌈🎉


Am Freitag Nachmittag hieß es bei Gleistein: Rechner und Maschinen aus – und gemeinsam ab in den GeoVersum-Garten!

Bei unserem Sommerfest wurde gegessen, getrunken, gelacht. Und vor allem: Zeit miteinander verbracht.

BratwurstBerti brachte uns das leibliche Wohl, kühle Getränke sorgten für die nötige Erfrischung bei außergewöhnlich hohen Temperaturen – und unser Team für einen richtig schönen, bunten Abend. Bis spät abends wurde Tischtennis gespielt und ausgiebig geplaudert.

Gleistein verbindet. Das gilt ganz sicher für unsere Seile – vor allem aber für die Menschen.

Danke an alle, die dabei waren – und natürlich an unser Orga-Team, das diesen Abend möglich gemacht hat! 🙌

The countdown is over. It's time to race. 🌊⚓

On 10 August, Malizia 4 sets sail for the Ocean Race Europe, taking on one of the world's most demanding offshore racing events.
