Playing with fire❤️‍🔥

Or maybe it was a sentimental moment when I saved this neoprene toy football that had been well loved by my kids.
So it went into the “keep” box.

Years later, I was inspired by its shape alone: Half of the football was destined to become a bustier. The flames kind of rounded it all off nicely.

Every single bit of material I used to make this bustier had a different purpose before.
It all came together in this small, fiery piece.
So satisfying.

Again, no rules, no boundaries when it comes to upcycling♥️

One of my favorite parts of upcycling is that there are no limitations as to how you take things apart or put them (back) together.

No rules.

I particularly like turning things upside down.

I bought this denim jacket because of its great fit and color, but was never fond of the pleats at the shoulders. So I took the sleeves out, but the plan to turn the pleats into shoulder hugging darts didn’t work out because of the pretty ugly bleaching detail that showed even more when taken apart.

So the vest & sleeves had to wait for their calling.

One day the idea shaped up to flip the sleeves upside down and turn them into fitted gloves, casually rolled up -or down?- at the upper arm.
Suddenly the pleats had a purpose: they became the almost flipper-like part that spreads over the entire back of the hand.

Wear as a vest & glove set or alone. Sold as set. Size S.

For the wild bones that are creating the sharp V-neckline of this former men’s vest I was inspired by Thierry Mugler’s 1992 motorcycle bustier.

Here the original shoulder reaches way past the woman’s body (like TM’s rearview mirrors) - fierce, yet vulnerable with the light, laced-up back.

I’ll tell you more why the back is laced up in another post…

luxiders came to visit my booth at Neonyt Düsseldorf 💎 on the ”COSH floor”

My label &LadyMondegreen Andladym was one of the “10 Standout brands of 2024”, at NEONYT which was hosted by Bilker Bunker:
