What we really liked in Hungary:
(Okay, there’s a lot more to see… but first, save these few!
😅😉)
1. Boldogkő Castle – Boldogkőváralja, Northern Hungary. Medieval castle with stunning views. Best in spring and summer for clear skies and photo-perfect lighting.
2. Hortobágyi Pancake – Classic Hungarian dish: meat-filled pancakes in paprika sauce. One of Barbi’s favorite
3. Kévelyhegy Lavender – Northern Hungary. Endless fragrant lavender fields peak in July, perfect for photos and walks.
4. Pilis – Healing Star – Pilisszántó, Hosszú-hegy. Mystical stone star, a spiritual hiking spot. Best in spring and autumn for mild weather.
5. Budapest Downtown – Hanging Moon – Piarista köz, next to Váci Street. Giant glowing Moon installation. Best visited summer evenings for magical city night vibes.
6. Lángos at Római Shore – Budapest riverside. Deep-fried flatbread with garlic, cheese, or sour cream. Best from May onward, when the riverside is lively and sunny. Renato’s fav😁
7. Flooded Budapest 🌊 – When the Danube floods in September, the riverside streets are closed to traffic, creating a unique and dramatic cityscape. A rare and special sight for locals and visitors.
8. Tihany – Lake Balaton – Picturesque village on the northern shore of Lake Balaton. Famous abbey, lavender fields, and stunning summer sunsets. Best visited June–August.
