May 5 marks the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG) 🪶At Fountain Atelier, we believe that true appreciation for Indigenous wisdom and artistry is inseparable from a commitment to Indigenous justice.
We cannot celebrate the beauty of the craft without acknowledging the battles of the guardians of the forest.

So we must amplify the lived realities of Indigenous communities. To honor the wisdom of these cultures, we must also stand as fierce allies in their struggle for safety and visibility.

Indigenous women, girls, and Two-Spirit individuals endure disproportionate levels of violence and systemic disappearance. For far too long, these narratives have been sidelined or silenced by mainstream media and institutions. This is not just a statistic; it is a profound human rights crisis that demands our collective attention.

This post offers a starting point to understand the MMIW crisis, but this is just the beginning.

We encourage you to dive deeper, uplift Indigenous-led organizations, and take action-whether by amplifying voices, supporting grassroots efforts, or educating your own communities.
