Examples category 6: Corporate identity with custom typefaces.
It is trendy to use typefaces specially designed for companies to give them a distinctive appearance. Here we show an example from China. In this category, the corporate identity, custom typeface and application examples are submitted. This is done in the same style as in the other categories.
The Goway Design Studio writes: The logo combines teacher Zhang Zhili’s surname “Zhang” with her initials “ZZL,” using book-like strokes paired into a medal to symbolize honour in Chinese language teaching. It also resembles stacked blocks, representing creativity, possibilities, and student growth, with their inward gathering showing collaboration. Dark blue conveys reason and thought, sky blue freedom and creativity. Their blend reflects the depth and breadth of language – logic and imagination intertwined to inspire and enrich. The design was developed by Ge He and Huihui Yuan.
The award winners from previous years are also documented at www.wolda.org. It is an international community for outstanding creativity in logos, identities and packaging. In addition, all award-winning works are documented in the yearbook.
