Examples category 1.2 Logo New, Europe & Africa

Luca Di Francescantonio, Italy, writes:
Colle Raro – which in Italian means “rare hill” – is the name of an oil mill in the Italian region of Abruzzo. The pictogram is based on a module of a broken olive repeated in a symmetrical reflected way, describing the initials C and R of the name. The logo therefore in its synthesis expresses elegance and rarity. Designed in 2025.

The entry fees for the Wolda are manageable: 80 euros per entry in the two logo categories and 180 euros in the other categories. This fee is valid until 30 September. After that, there is still the llate submission period and the opportunity to enter with a slightly higher fee.

The Yearbook: Logo inspiration from around the globe

Most competitions have done away with yearbooks. We are continuing to publish ours, as every prize-winner has put a great deal of effort into their entries. This overview of global logo trends is well worth printing on paper. It costs 44 euros plus postage.

In this book we present the winners of the 16th WOLDA. As the name suggests, the logo is at the centre of this competition. The aim is to showcase the best logos and the best use of logos from around the globe. The book is intended to inspire creativity and thus contribute to new creative ideas.

This book is not about finding and copying an idea. It‘s about immersing yourself in the work of colleagues from all over the world and understanding what makes a good logo: the idea of visually presenting the spirit of a company.

WOLDA is very well established. Participants from 23 countries underline its international reputation. Special thanks go to the jury, which is made up of successful logo designers from all over the world. What they have in common is that they have been recognised for their outstanding work at previous WOLDAs.

In recent years, the competition has been updated to show how excellent logos are used in practice. For each logo there are examples of practical application. Categories for identities and packaging have also been added. Here, too, the focus is on exemplary use of logos in practice. A category for animated logos and sound logos is intended to draw attention to the fact that logos also work in other media than on paper.

Examples category 6: Corporate identity with custom typefaces.

It is trendy to use typefaces specially designed for companies to give them a distinctive appearance. Here we show an example from China. In this category, the corporate identity, custom typeface and application examples are submitted. This is done in the same style as in the other categories.

The Goway Design Studio writes: The logo combines teacher Zhang Zhili’s surname “Zhang” with her initials “ZZL,” using book-like strokes paired into a medal to symbolize honour in Chinese language teaching. It also resembles stacked blocks, representing creativity, possibilities, and student growth, with their inward gathering showing collaboration. Dark blue conveys reason and thought, sky blue freedom and creativity. Their blend reflects the depth and breadth of language – logic and imagination intertwined to inspire and enrich. The design was developed by Ge He and Huihui Yuan.

The designer Emma Renting and Lot Mars write: BeBold is a training platform that helps people, from individuals to grow in leadership. The logo embodies that journey: a stylized “B” that simultaneously represents resilience, symbolizing personal transformation. The contrasting palette balances professionalism with energetic momentum, making the identity feel both powerful and approachable.
