People and Process.

Our first clothing collection, crafted using handwoven, naturally dyed cotton, launches Summer 2022. Shipping worldwide Mondays and Thursdays! RANI & REINE is a Canadian-Indian owned business operating between Europe and India, designing a line of handcrafted natural fibre clothing and homewares. We are a family owned and run business based in Baden Württemberg, Germany. Rani & Reine was born out

of a desire to incorporate traditional handcrafted Indian textiles, via a transparent and sustainable supply chain, into beautiful garments and homewares for natural fibre textile lovers. We design beautiful clothing and homewares from a place of connection and collaboration, with respect for the makers and for the planet. We exist at the intersection between Land, People and Process. Each textile embodies the landscape from where it originated and the skilled work of the farmers and artisans who produce the fibre, the fabric and the final product.

Around the SIDR Craft Studio in Bhuj

We visited SIDR first in the summer of 2023, returning in 2024 after bringing their beautiful bandhani and clamp dye shawls to our shop BOTHO in Tübingen.

SIDR Craft was founded in 1992 by brothers Abduljabbar and Abdullah Khatri in Kachchh, Gujarat. The brothers learned the craft from their mother. They chose to carry the tradition forward after it had begun to wane. Bandhani has been central to the Khatri community of Kachchh for centuries, valued for its intricate patterns, unique texture, and cultural significance.

The name Bandhani comes from the Sanskrit word bandh, meaning “to tie.” This centuries-old tied-resist dye technique involves lifting tiny peaks of cloth and tightly wrapping thread around them to resist the dye.

We are proud to welcome Abdullah to share with us the craft of Bandhani this coming May.

We are proud to welcome Abdullah Khatri from Kachchh, Gujarat in India to share with us the craft of Bandhani this coming May.

Friday May 1st, 2026 | 10 am - 4 PM

In this workshop, participants will be introduced to the basic tying techniques of Bandhani using traditional tools as well as the history of the craft and the Khatri community. After learning how to create thread resists by pinching and tying the fabric, participants will create their own simple Bandhani piece, using a pure silk shawl and natural indigo or madder root dyes. All materials included.

Freitag, 1.5.26 | 10:00 - 16:00 Uhr

Dieser Workshop vermittelt die Grundlagen des Bandhani: Seidenstoff abbinden, eigene Muster gestalten und mit natürlichen Pflanzenfarben färben. Our Spring Sale has begun.

A gentle clearing of treasures — our Spring sale invites you to discover pieces from past collections, now available before they quietly make way for the many new collaborations that we have established since we opened our brick and mortar store in November 2023.

You’ll find all the available pieces in the Sale tab on the left side of our homepage under Shop. Stock is very limited. The sale continues while supplies last.
We'll be adding new pieces to the sale over the coming days as we hunt through our stockroom.
