There are still many things to fight for when in comes to women’s rights. This year, we’re highlighting the need for women to be able to take part in the labour market as *whole women*.
So what does that mean?
Well, our bodies are cyclical, not linear.
Our hormones are many and at varying levels throughout our monthly cycle, pregnancy, fertility treatment, postpartum, and menopause.
We go through so many life phases that we somehow have to hide at work to be taken seriously or not to lose opportunities.
Our bodies are not made for a linear labour market where you show up the exact same way every single day like men are able to.
But that doesn’t mean weakness. On the contrary, when women understands their cyclical bodies, it’s a power and strength that can be utilised in amazing ways. Both at work and in private life. As says: it’s a super power.
But the labour market is still not fitting whole women. A big reason for that is lack of knowledge. Both among men and women. Personally, I was above 30 years old before I knew anything about how my cyclical body actually works. But we all ought to know.
So here’s to creating more awareness, sharing knowledge, and start having conversations about how women — whole women — take part in the labour market. There’s so much to win. For women’s health and the bottom-line.
Are you cycle syncing? Or curious to know more? We’re about to launch a series of journal articles on exactly this topic. Sign up to our newsletter The Drop via link in comments to be sure to never miss a piece xx
