Would we ever find my sock on this trail? However, through its accompanying app, Book&ME allows children to customize the tale with pictures. The app prompts children to take pictures that fit into various shapes. The outline of a whale turns blue when the phone is held up to the sky. An oval outline comes alive when a child's face fills the screen. These pictures are then printed onto stickers that can be placed throughout the book. Imagine the excitement when a child turns the page and sees his or her own face staring back! By giving children artistic freedom and allowing them to shape and even become part of the narrative, Book&ME pushes, empowers and inspires them to hold on to and nourish their creativity. Their Book&ME story will never be boring.

The story 'A Whale in the Basement' is a rhythmic tale about a child looking for his missing sock. An innocent search in the basement takes an unexpected turn and where friendships unfold. Your child and you are invited throughout the story to discover and interact with the book by co-creating illustrations for the missing figures by using the app and the stickers as tools.

Using the app's photo stencils, you and your child can fill in various shapes (a cloud, a key, a whale and others) with whatever you’d like. Print the images on the matching stickers that come with the book and place them as you read along.

Book&ME brings together the charm of reading tactile books with the excitement of a digital app, thus bridging the gap for families that face this digital dilemma. What sets it apart from other customizable books is that it allows your child’s imagination to guide the narrative, resulting in a completely unique and personal book.

Hello and thank you for sticking in there with us and helping us make Book&ME - A Whale in the Basement come to life! We were caught by surprise on Sunday by a great number of backers, that had decided to spend a bit of their Sunday on helping us making this happen, and suddenly we had reached our goal!

Today there is exactly one week to go. The fact that we are now a little above our estimated budget gives us a little air, and what a great feeling! We would love to go even more above the goal, as it will open up possibilities to make something extra for you who has been so great as to support us.
