In 2025, our Norwegian wool textile production partner, Innvik, sent 1,170 kg of selvedge to Convert, our upcycling facility, where it is used in the production of Kvadrat Really Textile Tabletops. Innvik is also exploring ways to repurpose leftover yarns for new developments and recycle selvedge into fibres for new yarn production.

On view at the New Museum in New York, the site-specific commission by Czech artist Klára Hosnedlová is proudly supported by Kvadrat and unveiled as part of the museum's highly anticipated reopening. The presentation marks the celebrated young artist’s first museum project in the United States and continues our long-term collaborative initiative with New Museum to premiere ambitious new productions by emerging artists, a partnership launched in 2017.

Installed within the central Atrium Stair, Hosnedlová’s monumental sculptural intervention will remain on long-term view. Drawing on Eastern Bloc architecture, science fiction aesthetics, and centuries-old craft techniques, Hosnedlová creates complex sculptural installations in which juxtapositions of materials mirror intersecting questions of labour, gender, and historical memory.

Hand-woven from 100% New Zealand wool and made using the artisanal Sumak technique, Souma is a richly textured plain weave and combines the charisma of a flat weave with the tactile charm of a pile rug. The Sumak technique gives Souma a richly detailed mesh-like woollen structure and voluminous surface characterised by exceptional colour depth.

Inspired by dawn’s gentle light, Daybreak 3 by Patricia Urquiola evolves throughout the day, revealing subtle colour nuances and structural details.

“Daybreak 3 revives the distinctive character of the original bestseller in a new 100% recycled composition. Its open, gauze-like weave lets light filter through softly, enriching spaces with a luminous softness.” – Patricia Urquiola

Bringing clarity and a calm presence to any space, the deep blue Casera by Cristian Zuzunaga is a dense curtain textile that combines a sharp architectural grid with a softened mélange expression. Crafted from 90% recycled polyester, it offers a matte look and allows natural light to filter through while preserving privacy.

The design draws inspiration from Zuzunaga’s photographic study of the interplay between urban environments and the personal spaces we inhabit, exploring the concept of the window as both a barrier and a connection between interior and exterior worlds. In Spanish, the word Casera evokes a sense of warmth, care and homeliness, qualities the curtain brings to architectural spaces.
