It is nice to see that we took the right decision to get recycled T-shirts and sweatshirts in stock.

Today Jamil G, a danish photographer and artist, with an internationally well-known reputation, has picked up t-shirts for his new brand.

Besides being a fantastic photography artist, Jamil G also does photo shoots for many big international brands and artist like Supreme X and Drake.

A small shoutout💚 We have been nominated to Grønne Erhvervspris. The city of Frederiksberg has an annual award ceremony, recognizing companies contributing to a better environment through own production, service and / or resale of sustainable product and / or reduction of CO2 emission. The award is givin on November the 4th, and your thoughts and good luck wishes are highly appreciated 😉

Meet the newest addition to our sustainable fiber familiy.
This is banana – 100% waste from the banana industry.
She is lightweight, soft and silky.
She is still on probation, but we are working on bringing her on full time.

When launching our own products, we of course have to use every scrap of fabric left over. One of our small items for the holidays is a small ornament. I know... It’s a long way to Christmas, but we’re using our scraps now while the production is running. And we have a few more small items coming soon.

Today we had an interesting conversation with Aida, a PhD researcher at the Imperial College London.

Aida reached out to us to pick our brains a bit about their new technology, and to hear if we see potential succes in the market, and YES, we indeed do.

The team has developed an amazing technology called DyeRecycle (www.dyerecycle.com), for which they are currently seeking funding.

In short: They have developed a way to extract dyestuff out of waste fabrics or old garments containing a majority of synthetic fibers, and use the extracted dye for dyeing new fibers and garments. This will make the need for new chemical dyestuff obsolete, as the amounts of post-consumer waste is massive, and instead recycled both dyestuff and fabrics.

We look forward to seeing their development, and to help push their invention to our suppliers.

In cooperation with you can check out a few of our fibers at this year. We are represented by banana and corn fibers, which are both made from waste from the food industry.

Stems and leaves from corn are fermented and turned into a silk-feel fabric.
The pith from banana palms trees is processed mechanically into a cotton-feel fabric, or fermented and turned into a viscose-like fabric.
And it is all done without the use of chemicals to ensure a smaller impact and more gentle process for our enviroment, our colleagues and the consumer.

Isn’t it great that you can use leaves, flowers and mud to color your garment? You don’t need to use all kinds of chemicals, but can in fact water the fields using the waste water directly.
