Itch to Stitch Sibiu top with Jalie Vanessa fluid pants.

Sibiu is always my go-to pattern when I need a simple top for a knit fabric. This time my knit is silvery and shining fabric that I have no memory of buying. Either way my magpie tendencies were loud with it. I also have my trusted Cartagena cami under it.

This pair of Vanessa pants is the second pair I’ve made. The fabric is the same as the last pair, and I made some changes: I used a size or two smaller for the waist and hips. I will do a knock knee adjustment on the next pair as I have the typical (for me) lines on the back again. I do need to remember that I used a stretch viscose blend twill fabric (about 10% stretch) and when my new fabric has less stretch, I need to go up a size again.

I think I need to shorten this pair for 2 cm as right now the ends get caught on the sneakers laces and feel a bit frumpy. I’m happy with the rest of them – much better than the first pair and now I know what to change for the next one.

The photos are taken in The Business Design Center while it was overtaken by The Stitch Festival and if you swipe all the way to the end you can see the painting without me in front of it and the authors name on the last one. I think it's wonderful!

Grainline Farrow dress

My first day at the Stitch Festival outfit was really comfortable and great to wear. I think this was the first time to sew a Grainline pattern for me and I'm really happy with the result.

I used viscose blend bengaline fabric. I did a full bicep adjustment on the sleeve and hemmed the dress with a bias binding. No other changes here.

The fabric is from thanks to my sewing friend 🤗

The stretch the bengaline fabric has makes this dress so comfortable! And drape is pretty good too. I'm sure to sew another dress like this to myself 😍

Liana stretch jeans and Iguazu top

Today was the travelling day and I chose a comfortable outfit. Liana stretch jeans from black stretch denim are great. Although my black denim keeps painting my fingers black too even though I have washed the trousers twice already.

Fortunately these didn't ruin my top. Iguazu is becoming my new favorite along with the Sibiu top. I used viscose blend knit fabric I bought from Spain last autumn I think. It's so soft and cuddly to wear.

I managed to visit Liberty London. I had my big suitcase with me, but it didn't stop me. The fabrics there are so pretty 😍 I didn't buy any, I'm saving all my fabric buying for tomorrow's festival.

I'll post about the festival tomorrow I hope :) I have two workshops to attend and hopefully I'll learn a lot.

Jalie patterns Vanessa pants with
Isidro top

Isidro top is made from viscose jersey and I've made countless numbers of these by now. It's such a great basic top pattern. Easy enough to sew and easy to wear and layer.

are sewn from viscose blend twill fabric. It's the first time I've made this pattern and I'm happy with the overall fit. I widened the trousers below my knees as the ends seemed so narrow. My twill fabric has some stretch, so these pants feel a bit wide on my waist, but for the first version I'm happy.

This pretty twill fabric was bought from a fabric shop near Stockholm on our last summer trip to Sweden.

I have made another pair from the same fabric and I'll show these soon.

Almost a year ago I posted my newly made Bohara bag by Schnittbox and now it's time to show my new Me Luna half moon crossbody bag.

A year ago I was so excited to go to the Stitch Festival in London and now I can't wait to go there next week! I got the tickets a long time ago and I've been sewing outfits for my trip. I also needed to sew my stash smaller so that when I come back with new fabrics, these will fit in some box in my sewing corner 😁🫣

I used faux leather for my bag. Blue is the same one I used for my coat, bronze and creamy white are bought from Karnaluks a while ago. I used remnants of bengaline (interfaced, so it wouldn't stretch) for the lining.
I like the Perfect enough tag inside, as the bag is just that. I made a couple of mistakes while making it, but it's perfect enough. I really like the pattern and the YouTube video is great for sewing instructions.
The zipper tape and the strap were both bought from The Stitch Festival last March and I'm excited to take these back in a new form :)

This L size bag can easily hold about 3-5 m of viscose fabric along with my wallet and other smaller items. I'll have my string backbag with me too.

I'll be roaming the festival and attending the workshops on Thursday and Friday. If you see me, come say hi!

Just patterns Kiara dress hacked into a top.

I loved my first version of this top so much I had to sew a second one.
I used a melange grey fine knit jersey fabric I ordered from .de It's a viscose, polyester and polyamide blend, stretches enough and is so soft to wear.

I added length to the bodice and added a bottom band. No other changes.

I wore it to a wonderful dinner. I loved the rich crayfish soup and enjoyed the whole dinner experience so much.

this pattern is a winner :)

Sew La Di Da Vintage Rock Steady coat

I loved this coat pattern the moment I saw it years ago. I knew there would be a time when I sewed one for myself. Today I know there will be a second one too 😁

I think the pattern is awesome. The instructions could be better, but if you have some sewing experience, you can make it work. I hacked my coat to have lined sleeves, I cut it 10 cm shorter on the hem and I also added the belt like Mari-Liis from I added a stay on the back too, just a piece of linen fabric so that the shoulder seams wouldn't stretch out.

My wonderful smoky blue fulled loden wool fabric is from .de and the dark violet leatherette (not leather) is also from them. I think these two go pretty well together. I added a viscose lining to the sleeves. I hand stitched it to the sleeve seam allowances while turning it in a bit. It makes putting on and wearing the coat so much easier. You can see the inside of my coat if you swipe on the photos.

This Rock Steady coat is a wonderful addition to my woollen coats collection.

- thank you so much for a great coat pattern 😍

Itch to Stitch Visby top

We had a 52 day period when the temperature was below zero (in Celsius) here. Only yesterday it rose above for a short period. We had -18°C when every snowflake glittered and shined, when the stars were bright and the moon gave enough light to walk in the dark even.

It's been such a wonderful winter this year. We have truly enjoyed it when walking through the forest to the beach. I enjoy it even more when wearing me made wool garments. As the winter goes on until the end of March at least, I'm sure I'm not too late with this wool jersey top.

I added the kangaroo pocket to this Itch to Stitch Visby top. I should remember to shorten the bodice 2-4 cm the next time.
The fabric is a wool jersey that I bought from a local fabric shop. It is a bit coarse, but not too much. It will be perfect to wear under a winter parka when temperatures drop again.

Monday's treasured sewing moment.

In 2013 and mostly in 2014 I started to sew more and more for myself. I remember being really happy with this skirt. I used linen and viscose blend fabric that I still have left enough for another skirt. I wore this skirt a lot!

Also I started to take photos of myself with my made garments and I was either goofy or serious. I didn't know how to pose or how to show off the garments the best.

The pattern is a Burda 8677 hack.

Itch to Stitch Elmstead Pinafore

It's something new for me. I think I haven't sewn a pinafore dress before this one. I styled it with a burgundy Zakopane top and tights, but I could wear it just as a dress too. I think it's going to be a great addition to summer dresses.

I used stretch denim for this one. I used snaps as my machine doesn't want to sew buttonholes right now.

I love the deep pockets!

Monday' s treasured sewing moment.

Back in 2010 I was a quilting novice, but I was eager to plan, sew and learn. I had a vision that I wanted to sew a unique patchwork quilt for my firstborn and I finished the green and yellow quilt in May 2011.

I had ordered some of the fabrics from eBay, some bought from the local shops. I used cotton batting and all the fabrics used were 100% cotton.

It wasn't easy to quilt a 140*140 cm big blanket on my small sewing machine with almost no experience, but I made it.

I'm so grateful for the past me as this quilt has been the favorite blanket for all of my kids and my youngest is still using it. I've washed it, built pillow castles with it, laid on it and snuggled with kids on it.

Should I make similar ones so that all the kids could have their own to take with them once they leave the nest? Or is this train gone and they will fight for this one anyway? 😆

Cashmerette Westmore cardigan.

I sewed this waterfall cardigan in the beginning of this summer, but I didn't take any photos. As Estonian summer has a lot of cooler days this cardigan from wool and viscose blend boucle knit fabric was in use several times.

I didn't finish any of the seams, the fabric doesn't fray and I just topstitched most of the seams and cut too wide seam allowances narrower.

I bought the fabric from Karnaluks (an Estonian shop). It has 60% viscose and 40% wool in it. It looks a bit like boiled wool, but it's not as heavy and drapes better.

This is a great addition to my wardrobe, I can easily wear it almost all year long:)
