✨ BEHIND THE SCENES AT GLADRAGS ✨
Choosing Maloka Spring/Summer 2027
Very soon, I’ll be heading off to the Maloka preview to make some very important decisions… choosing the Spring/Summer 2027 collection for Gladrags Boutique 💃🏼
And I thought I’d give you a little insight into what actually goes into placing that order… because it’s certainly not a 5-minute job! 😉
When I arrive at the preview, I’m faced with rails and rails of beautiful outfits — Dresses, Skirts, Trousers, Tops, Jackets and more.
My first job is to select the pieces I believe will be right for my Gladrags customers. Those chosen pieces then go onto my own rail, and that’s when the real work begins!
🎨 Which colours?
Each individual style can have up to 8 different colours to choose from — or sometimes 4 different patterns.
📏 Which sizes?
I then have to carefully decide which sizes to order.
👗 What works together?
I’m not simply choosing individual garments. I’m thinking about the whole collection — making sure there are Tops to work with Trousers, Jackets to complement Dresses, and plenty of opportunities to mix & match.
And then there’s the most important part…
❤️ THINKING ABOUT YOU!
I’m constantly thinking about my customers — the colours I know you love, the styles that work for you, what I think will be popular and, occasionally, I’ll throw in a curve ball or two! 😉
Because sometimes it’s good to step outside our comfort zones and try something a little different!
I also deliberately order only small quantities of each design. This helps keep Maloka at Gladrags feeling special and exclusive — you’re far less likely to walk into a room and see everyone wearing the same outfit.
Once I’ve made all those decisions, my order is placed… and then the waiting begins!
The garments are produced especially for the collection, and around SIX MONTHS later, they arrive at Gladrags Boutique ✨
So when you see a new Maloka collection arrive in the Boutique, remember that it started many months earlier, with me standing in front of those rails, making hundreds of little decisions about what I believe you will love.
There is a lot of thought, love and attention that goes into every Maloka order. ❤️
And that’s exactly how I like it.
