For almost 20 years they have been stored in the solid wood made furnitures of the original shop built in Lugo in the 1950s, but closed to the public since the end of the 1990s. When I recently came back to Italy with my wife, we decided to get through this collection of more than a thousand hats dated from the 60s to the beginning of the 90s. In few months we managed to carefully clean each one o
f them, we discarded those in very bad conditions, and then we finally classified all the collection in order to continue with this family tradition. We want to revive a family legacy and a shop which stayed opened for almost 50 years and where I also spent most of my childhood running through its corridors and climbing on its shelves. Original Italian Borsalino, Panizza, Bantam and Barbisio hats have been kept in stock here practically untouched, along with posters, items and hat boxes dating from the 50s or the 60s. A collection that also well represents the history of postwar Italy, of the rise of Italian hats around the world, but also of its temporary decline. We are happy to share with you these original and mainly high-quality vintage hats. Unique pieces in excellent state, many of them with the DR stamp, never used and often still with the original tags and labels. As no expert on the field, we are trying every day to gain experience and professional skills, recollect more information, while at the same time trying to put this hat collection in its historical context. For us it is not just selling hats, but to share a piece of history and a family legacy. Thanks for going through this with us
