Cravings anyone?⁣

For the past week I have been craving Mexican food - the real stuff! ⁣

One of the things I miss most about living in Chicago is the latino neighborhoods where you can find Mexican restaurants on every corner. I used to drive out of the way to get an horchata at my favorite horchata place or tacos at my preferred taco place, because in Chicago everyone has their ´favorite spots'. We normally compare how and why our spot is better!⁣

Sure here in Barcelona we have a few Mexican restaurants that are not so bad, but none of them compare to the food we had access to in Chicago. I usually ask for things that are not on the menu and they look at me like I'm crazy. Not to mention the original corn tortillas made in Chicago . The packs were still hot when you took them out of the cardboard boxes in the food markets. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Luckily my Mexican friends and my parents friends taught us how to make Mexican dishes so I mostly cook my favorite dishes at home. They're delicious, even with the limited variety of ingredients I find here locally. The only thing I usually have my visitors bring me back from Chicago is Mexican or Polish ingredients. I mean who needs anything other than that?

So today, in honor of my taste buds..I'm showcasing our amazing Filipino model (isn't she adorable?) wearing one of my traditional Mexican dresses. Just like Mexican food they are rich in colors and tradition!! Available in different sizes and a GRANDE discount to go along with it. DM me for more info. ⁣

Colors, flowers, ruffles, summer...life!⁣

Oh how I wish things were finally back to normal. I see the flowers blooming, the sun shining and it makes me want to go to the beach with my baby girl. But that's just not possible right now. At least we finally get to take walks as a family. Something she is really enjoying right now. ⁣

I'm thankful people for the most part are still being cautious and obeying the rules here in Barcelona. I'm hopeful that one day soon we will get our city back to it's usual cheerful and thriving self. Till that day, I'm just enjoying watching my baby grow and our family making the most of this time we have together. ⁣

I know people are having a hard time finding baby clothes and other items that are normally shipped without any issues. If you are looking for something unique, meaningful, and made from the ❤️..I'm offering special pricing on all of our summer stocks - including this amazing dress made from Ankara fabrics (just DM me and I'll tell you all about it). ⁣

Help get our small businesses back on their feet! I'm a small business owner and my goal for the rest of the year is to shop at independent stores and to take advantage of independent services as much as possible.. who's with me? What services do you offer? What are you doing to help the global economy? ⁣

You won't find a Mom and Dad manual for this!⁣⁣
⁣⁣
When I became pregnant, I read as much as possible and tried to seek out the best new parent advice. But now 2.5 months into being a Mom, I realize that nothing can prepare you for this experience! Here are the things I learned so far that may help new parents.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
- Breastfeeding is HARD!!! Be prepared to have the baby stuck to you all day, especially the first month. Comfort sucking can make you break down and cry. Once I started pumping and having my partner do the last feeding of the night and the morning feedings, I finally felt a little more sane. Otherwise it feels like the baby is on the b**b 24-7. I promise you it does get easier.⁣⁣

- Colic makes you want to run to the doctor everyday. There is nothing worst than watching your baby arch their back, cry, twist and look uncomfortable every time they sleep. It still worries us, but at 2 months, we are really seeing an improvement. Remember it's normal!! The baby's digestive system is developing and you are not doing anything wrong. All you can do is be patient..it will eventually pass.⁣⁣

- You won't have any time for yourself. Eventually you will come to terms with this. Your free time is in the shower. That's pretty much it. There are days I think I will have some time to sit at my desk and design something new, but then another day passes and I am still in my pj's smelling like breastmilk with my hair all over the place. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
So much more to share, but I think I hear the baby waking up so I can't even finish this post.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
*Disclaimer: I love being a Mom and feel proud of me and my partner for everything we have battled through so far. This is still hands down the best thing that could have happened in our lives. Just want you to know that frustration, pain, and tears are all ok and just part of the experience.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Gotta go....breast duty calls

Sunday outfit - pajamas! ⁣
⁣.or is today Monday? Tuesday? Whatever!! All the days feel the same. So I find myself mostly wearing pajamas these days. They are comfortable and they keep the laundry from piling up. ⁣

Since I am a freelancer, I mostly work from home so working in pajamas is nothing new but definitely not something I do every day. I see my pre-pregnancy clothes hanging in the closet and I don't even feel like trying them on to see if they fit again. Oh well something to look forward to when things calm down a bit. What little things are you looking forward to? ⁣

The baby pajamas featured here are my own design. It's a mix of Scandinavian and Japanese designs. I designed the flared kimono sleeves and an amazing graphic designer provided the graphics. These pajamas are so soft and slip on and off easily which makes diaper changing a breeze. ⁣

We'll be there for you every step of the way! ⁣

The coronavirus outbreak has me so worried about my little baby girl who is going to be 2 months old in just a week. I want to protect her and comfort her at all times. This is definitely not how I imagined her first months of life. But who can plan for something like this? ⁣

I think about all those soon to be parents who have to deal with the fear of going to the hospital and giving birth at a time like this. I send all of you much love and hope you stay strong, positive, and healthy during this amazing experience. It will be unforgettable and you're going to be great! ⁣

This picture was taken at our maternity photoshoot. I made sure to include one of my favorite products - the Bebé Origins moccasins! I just love how soft the suede leather is and the embroidered flowers are the cutest! I can't wait to fill these shoes with my baby girls feet and chase her around as she takes her first steps. I want to be there for her every step of the way as she runs, climbs, dances into her toddler years and beyond. For now, we are going to keep her indoors and wait for this virus to ease up. We're getting anxious, but we know we have to do our part to keep everyone safe. ⁣

Stay safe and indoors everyone! This too shall pass.... ⁣

Please stay home! Quédate en casa!⁣

In Spain, the number of people infected with the virus is rising daily. We have been ordered to stay home and can only go out in case of emergency or to buy food. ⁣

My 1.5 month year old is stuck at home but I rather stay home and do my part in stopping the spread of this terrible virus than risk our lives or the lives of others.⁣

The virus caught us in the middle of a move and with family visiting from other countries. It's been a difficult week to say the least.⁣

My thoughts are with those amazing people working at in Barcelona who delivered my little girl, who took such good care of us and helped us through our 1st week as new parents, their job has gotten so much harder during this time. Those working night and day in hospitals and clinics around the world to take care of those affected by the virus, risking their own lives, need to be recognized as true heroes and deserve to be taken care of during and after things get better. Thank you for what you do!! For all of them, please just stay home. ⁣
Mucho ánimo a los equipos médicos de . Gracias por ariesgar tus vidas para salvar otros. Sois héroes! ⁣

Stepping out of the belly and into my life. ⁣

It's been 3 weeks since I became a new Mom and I have to say that nothing can prepare you for the postpartum period. It's tough. You have this tiny little person who is completely dependent on you and you just want to make sure you are giving them the best love and care possible. But it's not easy. You have to completely sacrifice your time, mind, body even when you have all the help possible. Oh the joy of breastfeeding🤱. ⁣

My little one is a colic baby. Poor thing is adjusting to her new life and surroundings. It's not easy on her and it's even harder on the parents. We're pushing through this together and hoping everything will be better soon👨‍👩‍👧. Being first time parents, we've already been to the doctor so many times to make sure she's ok. We get up constantly to make sure she's breathing (just like every other new parent in the world), we're walking zombies👣🧟🧟, our house is upside down, we're in the middle of a move, US family guests are coming to visit, etc...So, I guess things are pretty normal.⁣

Moms and Dads please let us know if you have any colic advice? How long did it take your baby to feel better? I believe we are doing everything we can but still welcome advice from around the world. ⁣

I can't believe I actually found the time to post this 🥱. This picture is from my 37 week maternity photo shoot and it features our Bebé Origins baby sandals so I had to post. How cute are they on top of my big belly? ⁣

Our 37 week photo shoot titled ¨Super Mom. Super Dad (in training).¨⁣

These socks could not be more fitting as we make it into our second week of being first time parents. The only thing that I would change is the - Super Dad in training part. The Daddy has been taking care of his new baby and his post c-section girl like a true pro. He's the essence of an amazing person, great Dad and partner. Not to mention my best friend! He does it all with a smile and constantly looks for more ways to make us feel loved, cared for and special. No training required - he does it all with his heart and it comes to him naturally. How did I get so lucky?⁣

Nobody tells you that postpartum recovery can be so difficult. I finally feel like I can get up and walk across the room. Last week, I needed assistance just to lift myself out of bed. I can't lift the baby or make any sudden moves but with a little patience, I know I will be my energized self again. Right now, I'm just overjoyed by this new little addition to our happy tribe. ⁣

It's amazing just how much your life changes when you have a baby. I have not even had time to check social media until today. But it's ok, slowly getting into a routine and getting back on track. ⁣

Thank you so much everyone for the wonderful messages, advice and support! There are some really great people out there in the world.⁣

In the hospital. Ready to meet my baby girl! ⁣

I've had this little notice prepared for when I go to the hospital to give birth. I know! Who thinks of Instagram at a time like this? Well, the show must go on and I would like my followers to know I appreciate them sticking with me and understanding why I am MIA (missing in action). Thank you all for the support you have given me throughout my pregnancy and especially all the Moms for all your helpful advice. I'll be back real soon. ⁣

I'll miss reading all your posts but will be catching up when I am well and ready. Off I go...wish me luck in this new chapter of my life. ⁣
