The finalists for the ADI-FAD biennial awards, one of the oldest and most prestigious in Europe, have been announced, and we are very pleased to share that 5 of our products have been selected:
1. “Can Pa” bench by .morrison is made with terrazzo, featuring a design that is simple, understated, and at the same time elegant and functional. It has a standard size of 185x119cm and can be customized if desired. Additionally, it is more sustainable than most because it is a ‘dry construction,’ which means it does not use adhesives but is assembled (and disassembled) with screws. It also incorporates the option of a table.
2. Urban mining, the process of converting what would be construction waste into new aggregates (new resources), allows us three major benefits: first, to be more sustainable, as it minimizes both construction waste and the new aggregates we will need. Second, because we create new pieces that have a history, that keep alive and revalued elements of the past. And finally, because they are unique pieces. There will never be another one exactly like it. Moreover, they are very beautiful, and they can last many years, and when they are done, they will be easily recyclable (if needed…).
3. Door stops, by Lluís Clotet, who is 84 years old and remains as brilliant and generous as ever, and has honored us by designing this piece. A very unique element. Both necessary and beautiful. And useful. A very simple piece, yet full of virtues.
4. A collection that showcases the great creativity of , generating a multitude of designs from a single tile, which is very simple: a quarter of a circumference (a spin off from )
5. Rammed earth tiles are a commitment to sustainability and beauty. Unique, authentic, customizable, elegant, and efficient pieces. need to be touched...
