Darling Lilly 21 today ❤️ I remember, like it was yesterday, the day you were born.
The nurses on the ward all gathered around my bed to come and look at the very beautiful baby. They kept streaming in all day to stare at you. A photographer knocked on the door and asked to take your photo for a newspaper article. It was surreal!
It was, and still is, a feeling of pure joy that you were my baby. And, I should add also your father’s and your sister Chloe’s- who arrived shortly after the birth to whisk you into her arms. To this day if I tell you something I may as well have said it to Chloe (not counting all the times I actually have) and vice versa.
You were so beautiful then and you still are! But that is the very least of your qualities. You have an inner grace that transcends all that. Before all else, you are kind and loving. You love your dog, your sister, your brother, your friends and, most miraculously of all your parents! Didn’t you have the best time over the last 3 mothers when you were at home from hanging with us every night? We did!
And, by god, you are also determined! Highlands Bowl ✔️Half Marathon ✔️ Chinese ✔️What started as a casual throw away comment by me a few weeks ago “ I think I could do the same plank time as you” has turned into a insurmountable challenge for me as you upped and upped that time each day. Ok noted I absolutely can’t!
I’m so heart broken darling that I can’t be with you on your special day but I know you have your gorgeous friends around you. Have the happiest 21st birthday. Go out and have lots of fun. And be sure to enjoy your first drink 😜
