The silk process requires a lot of energy because water must be boiled for 6-8 hours a day. Conventionally firewood is used so the contribution to greenhouse gases and global warming is huge.
Our partners have been using solar power since 2016 to irrigate water and to boil it.
It is now a Zero-emission system.

Tatemae 建前 conduct and opinions that one demonstrates in public.

Through this photo installation we explore the dialogue between our true emotions and how we present ourselves to the outside world.
The thread is our silk scarf, that acts sometimes as a physical object, sometimes as a metaphor, but always in constant coexistence with the protagonist of the journey and the object of the photographer's personal gaze.
