I just spent the past week in Galicia, Spain, with my family.
We had a wonderful time, filled with lots of walks in the luscious countryside, through rain and shine!

After the rain the woodland fills with such a strong aroma of eucalyptus.
I have brought a bunch of the leaves home to dry out, and I will soon experiment to dye a batch of wool using them - perhaps a bundle dye…I’m still deciding. Looking forward to sharing my results with you!

Happy Earth Day!

When I was deciding on the core values of Have & Hold, it was important to me that my products never become part of the landfill problem.

I did A LOT of research on different types of wool, and considered all the pros and cons.
I decided on 100% natural merino wool, as once Have & Hold products have lived their life, composted, they will simply break down in the ground within approximately 12 months, releasing valuable nutrients back onto the soil.

And having dyed all the wools using natural ingredients, this also compliments that process.
I adore these colours from Mother Earth and I hope you do too 💚

Can’t quite believe this change in the weather! Last week was glorious Spring sunshine…and today it is bitterly cold!!

That’s why merino wool is perfect for this time of year! It is temperature regulating, keeping you warm when you are cold, and cool if you get hot.
Nothing better to have on your head in this unpredictable Spring time!

I just wanted to send a message to say, thank you for all your recent support! Making and running a business with a baby in-towe is tricky to say the least…but I wouldn’t have it any other way!

I really appreciate every ready made order, and custom orders are wonderful to do!

Hope you all had a great Christmas & New Year!

For me, today feels like the first day to get back into gear (no coincidence that the kids are back at school!)

Our Christmas tree is coming down today, and I can’t wait to make a pineneedle dye batch with some of the branches - kicking off the new year with a new dye!!

All off cuts of wool are either used for labelling, or composted.

Merino wool is completely biodegradable, it will break down in the ground within approximately 12 months, releasing valuable nutrients back onto the soil.

Autumn is finally here!!! I don’t know about you, but I’ve really enjoyed looking out all my family’s knitwear and extra layers…specifically our hats!

Whilst I’m not making any new hats for another week or so, I was busy crocheting over the summer. Head to the website to check out the new Pom Pom & Turn Up hats in a great selection of one-of-a-kind natural dye colours.

I’ve been keeping something under my hat…

I’m excited to announce, I’m 33 weeks pregnant. Getting much closer to the due date now, we are getting very excited!

I couldn’t resist making a newborn size Pom Pom hat for her!

So I’m still dyeing wool and crocheting hats at the moment. But I will be making a lot less (if at all) in September/October. You will still be able to place orders on the website however.
