It was a great day for Arakele raising funds from sales of items at the Diplomatic Bazaar as recipients of diplomatic Project Matrix funding (supporting our Period Poverty project)

At the annual Diplomatic Bazaar in Addis Ababa as recipients of funding for our period poverty program with Ekrem from LOMI Addis our first year graduate now a successful designer in her own right! Including designing for the British Ambassador’s wife!

We are delighted to partner with NGO International Fund for Africa providing students from marginalised backgrounds with vocational training (IFA donated graduates with sewing machines) and providing students in schools with active Girls Clubs (established by IFA) with period pad kits and a pilot program of providing girls clubs with sewing machines and training so that every girl in that school will be able to manage her monthly period with a period pad pad kit.

We love celebrating our students ! Today in partnership with IFA (International Fund for Africa) 10 women from marginalised backgrounds who received training in sewing and design from Arakele received brand new sewing machines from
IFA for these graduates to launch their own businesses from home!
