I realized I never posted these finished socks here! So these are the Pastoraali 2 socks from Arabia Novita sukkalehti. Designed by Lumi Karmitsa and based on the pattern on 1960s Arabia Pastoraali Dishes. These were so lovely to knit! The only problem is that they are too pretty to wear! I’m afraid of ruining them!

I got lots of reading material today! I ordered Patterns of Fashion books a while ago and they finally arrived. I also visited and bought some sill yarn and books on early lace. She also wanted to get rid of two piles of magazines, so I got those, too! I have never heard about Piecework magazine but it looks very interesting!

I should have a serious talk with my brain. Why oh why did I decide that, after sewing 48 tiny eyelet holes by hand, this renaissance outfit needed sleeves with side lacing! So now I must sew 32 more eyelet holes! And this outfit is also turning from a renaissance dress into a renaissance wardrobe as I’m already planning a second overgown after completing this second set of sleeves. And then there is the question on shoes and headwear…

The chaos of fabric remnants! These remnants from my sewing projects are taking over the space in my sewing space. Today I’m tacklong the whole pile and keeping only the best bits. It is annoying to throw away good fabric but what can I do with little scraps of lining fabric that are too small for a bodice or precut pieces of a dress after I realised that the fabric didn’t suit my project. (That was such a shame!) At least I hope I can recycle at least some of this pile and maybe find people that are interested in other pieces.
