April dump and hello May ✨

April was the month of the veils, definitely!

This last month I had many inquires and sales of custom veils and also even dresses from my sample sale, sold via Dm, to all over Finland!

It makes me think that my work is being recognized not just in Helsinki area but also in other places and my heart feels so grateful for it! 🤍

This month Ive been working also on my custom made clients dresses, for this summer (no pictures yet😇) and the usual bridal alterations!

A couple of colleges, from other bridal boutiques and alterations ateliers are also recommending my services to their clients, when they have a full schedule. 🫶🏼 and Im forever grateful for that! I believe, together, we can make everything easier and smoother to our clients!

And just like this we move on to May, new place to serve my clients, spirit full of energy and beautiful dresses to be finished this summer 🥰

The most requested alterations ✂️

When you buy a dress from a bridal boutique, they are ordered to measurements, but they are NOT custom made for you. And thi is where the magic of the alterations happens! 🧵✨

1- Shortening the hem

Shortening the hem is the most
common alteration in the atelier. The dresses are made in factory standard length, and most of the time it’s too long for the average costumer. So this is a service you will probably need to have it done in your dress, to able to walk and dance freely.

2- Taking sides in/out

Dresses ordered from bridal boutiques are ordered in standard sizes but every woman body is unique and it’s impossible to make dresses that would fit perfectly to everyone.
So fine adjustments on sides are often necessary to enhance the dress silhouette.

3- Shortening straps/shoulders

Most of wedding gowns are made with a longer strap or longer shoulders, so they will fit a wide range of brides.
This is a very simple adjustment that can change the whole fit of your dress. Once the shoulders are in the right place, you can see the whole dress fitting better already.

4- Adding sleeves or special details

Sometimes you find THE dress but something is missing, it could be a pair of long sleeves, a belt or an embroidery.
This kind of special alterations brings more personality and makes the dress unique!

🪡 These are just some of the services I offer in the atelier, but as I often say: almost anything is possible!

So don’t forget to book your alterations appointment as soon as possible, you don’t need to have your dress in hands, just your wedding date.

Going back to 2024, when found her dress in one of the bridal boutiques I used to work 🤍

She felt in love with the dress but a few details were missing to be THE ONE!

So, I made a couple of alterations for her, as:

- a beautiful pair of bubbly tulle sleeves with wide cuffs, finished with lace details.

- Elastic off shoulders detail for better movements.

- alterations on the sides and back of dress for better fitting.

- shortening of only the front of the hem and a 3 points bustle, to have the train of the dress up, after the ceremony.

And you can see the results by yourself, it was a fairytale dress! ✨

When you carry all your personality to your wedding dress ✨

This was such a special project, since the first fitting!
Anna’s dress was far away from conventional, there was lace, shiny embroidery, / beautiful open back and the cherry on the top, a majestic over skirt with ruffles!

For the dress, basic alterations were done, as shortening the hem, tightening the sides for the perfect fitting and shortening straps.

For hem, shortening was needed as well, and we decided to create a frontal zipper opening, so she could chose when have a slit in the front and when to have the full modern princess look!

Im very glad she trusted the process and her dream dream to my hands 🤍

Hello, Im Isabella, the designer behind this Atelier 👋🏼

I graduated from Fashion design university in São Paulo, Brazil in 2013, opened my first Atelier and here I am, woking with bridal and evening dresses, for 13 years already!

I came to Finland in 2022 and since then, I’ve been working in collaboration with the most popular bridal boutiques in Helsinki area, offering different kind of services as bridal and evening alterations, custom made accessories and styling.

The clientele started to grow and I decided it was time to get my own place, so I could offer a passion of mine, my custom made designs.

Im specialized in corsetry and body structures, what makes the biggest difference when building a dress that stays up and gives a beautiful silhouette.

I believe every woman deserves to wear their dream dress and as a designer it’s my job to make sure they feel their best version when celebrating the most important days of their life.

During all these years, my atelier has been and will always be a safe space, where you can just be yourself!

Lina had a very clear view of her dream dress✨
She ordered a very classic and simple dress from a bridal boutique and trusted my ideas and expertise to customize and make it perfect for her!

So I designed small cap sleeves, made from tulle, embellished in a beautiful and delicate leafs lace, to cover the shoulders.

To match the dress and add one more layer of detail, I designed a cathedral veil, made of 3 meters of Italian tulle, with edges embroidered with the same leafs motives as the sleeves.

Her dream dress was all about the details 🤍
