I’ve had a wonderful week teaching a lovely group of students from all over the world.

My first student Manuhita from India was a complete beginner to millinery and a lighting designer. A further 2 students from Australia Ange and Susie and Anya from Spain. Unfortunately another student was unable to attend at the last minute.

It’s been so much fun to share my skills and techniques with them in my home and atelier.

We’ve eaten delicious food and wine and enjoyed spending time together. Thank you everyone for making it a special week ❤️

I came across these beautiful hats in the private collection of Queen Victoria’s at Osborne house on the Isle of Wight.

The first made completely of feathers and absolutely exquisite and the second a little bonnet.

I wish I’d had more to do further research on these pieces on display. Mr C was keen to go down to the private beach. I’m sure someone will enlighten me.

What a lovely weekend spent on the Isle of Wight exploring the botanical gardens Osborne House ending with dinner at the taught club in Cowes.

The British Hat Guild unveils Beyond the Brim: The Heritage of Hat Making to celebrate London Craft Week.

I’m pleased to have my design “Swirl” exhibited as part of this exhibition.

This curated showcase from the ‘British Hat Guild,’ in association with ‘The Worshipful Company of Feltmakers,’ and ‘London Craft Week,’ celebrates the artistry of contemporary hat makers; merging traditional methods with modern innovation.

Every creation tells a story of meticulous skill, creativity and cultural significance, connecting past and present.

Whether for fashion, function or fascination, ‘Beyond the Brim,’ promises an in depth exploration into the heart of millinery and hat making and the enduring legacy it carries forward.

We had so much fun last weekend at the Hat Stroll in Barcelona. My student Courtney or the right is wearing a large Sinamay hat that she made and her wife is wearing one of my hats.
