Color palette inspo 🎨💜
I was looking inside my stash the other day and I realized I could use this beautiful yarn combo for a new sock project! I’m still unsure how I am going to use the contrasting purple color: should I knit only the heel with it or also the cuff and the toe part? I am also hesitating between several patterns: how can I choose between the Ballerina socks by , the Harvest socks by and the Gro socks by ? 😱 But before starting this new project, I need to finish my Late summer wrap first! 🤞🏻

En fouillant dans mon stock de laine l’autre jour, j’ai réalisé que je pourrais utiliser ce super combo pour mon prochain projet de chaussettes ! J’ai cependant quelques doutes sur comment utiliser le violet : seulement sur le talon ou bien aussi sur la cheville et les orteils ? J’hésite aussi sur le patron : comment voulez-vous choisir entre la Ballerina socks de , la Harvest socks de et la Gro socks de ? 😰 Il faut de toute façon que je finisse mon Late summer wrap avant de me lancer dans ce nouveau projet !

I’be been working on a very cute sewing project this summer, with this amazing fabric from . I can’t already show you the final result because my sewing machine need a quick check by a repairman and I haven’t sew all the finishing touches. Anyway, I am super proud of the cuffs and the embroidery details, I hope it will be ready to wear for this autumn 🍂💙

J’ai consacré une partie de mon été à ce projet couture super mignon, et pour lequel cette viscose de était prédestinée ! Je ne peux pas encore vous montrer le résultat final car ma machine à coudre doit être révisée avant que je finisse les derniers détails. Néanmoins, je suis déjà super fière des manches et des détails en dentelle qui m’ont donnés du fil à retorde ! J’espère que cette jolie blouse sera bientôt prête pour en profiter cette automne 🍂💙

Today, I would like to show you a place in Paris that you cannot easily visit as a tourist. This is the Val de Grâce in the 5th arrondissement, where I have the chance to work for my PhD thesis: what is pictured is the former military hospital in activity from the 19th century until the 1970s. This beautiful view on the cloister and its garden is visible from the building’s medical library: I spent most of the month of July there, reading old medical textbooks and atlas. It is a fastidious work as you can see the number of volumes I must consult, but I feel lucky to be in such a pretty and calm place 💙

Aujourd’hui, je tiens à vous montrer un endroit dans Paris qu’il n’est pas facile de visiter en tant que touriste. Voici le Val-de-Grâce dans le 5e arrondissement, où j’ai la chance de travailler pour mon doctorat: j’ai ici photographié l’ancien hôpital militaire en activité du XIXe siècle jusqu’aux années 1970. Cette magnifique vue sur le cloître et son jardin est visible depuis la bibliothèque de médecine du bâtiment. J’y ai passé une grande partie du mois de juillet dernier à lire de vieux ouvrages et atlas de médecine. C’est un travail fastidieux comme vous pouvez voir le nombre de volumes à consulter sur le chariot, mais je me sens chanceuse d’être dans un endroit si beau et calme pour travailler 💙

At the beginning of July, I had the chance to spend a week of my summer vacation in Brittany: after a tough phd first year, it was a much needed week of relaxation with my boyfriend and friends! We visited the region and enjoyed the beaches, even if the water was slightly cold (16°c 😅).
I even had the time to knit as much as I wanted, and I made good progress on my Late summer wrap by ♥️ I use for this project alpaca and mohair yarn and I cannot stress enough how soft this combo is 🥰 You should also know that I took risks for you on these pictures: the wind was blowing so hard that it blew one of my skeins far away onto the beach 😂😭 it was quite a mess to deal with all the knots and the sand after😂

Au début du mois de juin, j’ai eu la chance de partir une semaine en vacances en Bretagne : après une première année de doctorat chargée, cette pause était plus que nécessaire ! Avec mon copain et des amis, nous avons visité la région et profité des magnifiques plages, même si l’eau était un peu fraîche (16°😅).
J’ai surtout pu consacrer autant de temps que je le souhaitais à tricoter : j’ai bien avancé sur mon Late Summer wrap par ♥️ j’utilise pour ce projet à la fois un fil 100% alpaga et un fil 100% mohair : impossible de faire plus doux ! 🥰 Je tiens aussi à vous dire que j’ai pris des risques importants pour faire ces photos pour vous : le vent soufflait si fort qu’il a emporté ma pelote de mohair à l’autre bout de la plage 😂😭 je vous laisse imaginer le bazar pour enlever le sable de la laine après 😂

New small project on my needles 🖤 this is first of the Acorns socks by : it’s my first toe-up sock and it is not as hard as I thought it would be ! The heel flap is also very cute 🥰 I am just a little bit uncertain about the size, I may need to frog part of this sock in the future 😅

Nouveau petit projet sur les aiguilles 🖤 voici la première chaussette du patron Acorns socks par : c’est le premier modèle toe-up que je tricote et c’est finalement plus simple que je ne le pensais ! Le rendu du talon est aussi très beau 🥰 j’ai juste encore quelques doutes sur la taille, il va peut être falloir que je détricote une partie de cette chaussette une fois l’essayage fait 😅

This Aran Cardigan is finished and I am so happy with the final result! 😍 my only disappointment is that I only finished it at the beginning of April, when the weather is becoming sunnier and hotter 😅 It will probably be my new favourite piece to wear next winter ! ❄️

L’Aran cardigan est enfin terminé et je suis super contente du résultat ! 😍 Ma seule déception est de n’avoir réussi à le terminer qu’en avril, alors que les beaux jours sont déjà de retour 😅 ça sera certainement ma nouvelle pièce favorite dans mon dressing l’hiver prochain ❄️

Update on the Aran Sweater Pattern ✨

I'm finally starting to see the finish line of this project ! 😮‍💨 As a reminder, I decided a few months back to reuse the yarn from a sweater that I was not wearing. Sadly, back in January, as I was knitting the sleeves, I discovered that I did not have enough yarn to finish the cardigan. I soon noticed that the yarn in question was no longer for sale 😭
I had to find an alternative: thanks to the great advices from , the Léttlopi yarn () appeared as a great substitute. I re-knitted the sleeves with it, and kept the main colour for the bodice. Now, I only have to finish the front right and sew the parts together to finally be able to wear my new cardigan ! 🥰 Better late than never !

Je commence ENFIN à voir le bout de projet ! Pour rappel, j’ai décidé il y a quelques mois de réutiliser la laine d’un pull que je ne portais pas. Alors que j’étais en train de tricoter les manches en janvier dernier, j’ai découvert que je n’avais pas assez de laine pour finir ce cardigan (les torsades, vous connaissez…). Pompom sur la Garonne, la laine en question n’était plus commercialisé 😭
Il a fallut trouver une alternative : grâce aux chouettes conseils de , la laine Léttlopi () est apparue comme un substitut inespéré. J’ai donc retricoté les manches avec, en gardant la laine principale pour le corps du gilet. À présent, il ne me reste plus qu’à finir le devant droit et à coudre les parties ensembles pour pouvoir enfin porter ce cardigan ! Mieux vaut t**d que jamais ! 😅

I am proud to show you my first ever handmade baby knitwear ! 💙 it’s the Persille sweater by with 100% Baby yarn (pure merino wool). It took me quite some time to achieve it as I used 3mm needles. I find the lace pattern so elegant, I am in love with the final result 😍 The friends I offered this sweater to sent me photos of the sweater worn by their baby and I have rarely seen such a distinguished gentleman 😂

Je suis fière de vous montrer mon premier tricot pour bébé ! 💙 c’est le pull Persille de tricoté en taille 3 mois avec la laine 100% baby de (pur mérinos). J’ai pris pas mal de temps à tricoter ce cadeau comme j’ai utilisé des aiguilles de 3mm. J’adore le motif de dentelle, je trouve le résultat final super élégant 🥰 les amis à qui j’ai offert ce pull m’ont envoyé quelques photos de leur bébé le portant et j’ai rarement vu un bébé aussi chic pour l’hiver 😂

ORSAY MUSEUM: EDVARD MUNCH x ROSA BONHEUR 🎨

As you may know, Paris is full of great museums 🥰 I took the time a few weeks ago to visit two temporary exhibitions at the Orsay Museum: first, I discovered Edvard Munch’s art, which I knew nothing about except his famous Scream ☺️ then, I went to the Rosa Bonheur exhibition, a famous French female artist during the 19th century. She was really famous for the way she portrayed animals: swipe to see a cute kitten! I must that that exhibition is perfect for children 😉🥰

MUSÉE D’ORSAY : EDVARD MUNCH x ROSA BONHEUR 🎨

Vous le savez, Paris est une ville remplie de musées 🥰 j’ai pris le temps il y a quelques semaines d’aller visiter deux expositions temporaires au musée d’Orsay : tout d’abord, j’ai découvert l’œuvre d’Edvard Munch, dont je ne connaissais jusqu’alors que le fameux Cri 😅 j’ai continué ensuite avec l’exposition sur Rosa Bonheur, femme peintre reconnue au XIXe siècle. Ses peintures à l’huile d’animaux ont fait sa renommé : un petit chat se cache dans les photos 😉 c’est l’exposition idéale pour emmener des enfants au musée ! 🥰

My reactions on knitting my first socks 🧦🧶

This year, I started several socks projects for the first time. Even if I feel pretty confident in my knitting skills, I was hesitant to undertake such creations: the few YouTube heel tutorials I watched seemed insurmountable 😅 Once this apprehension passed, I admit I liked this type of project : easy to carry everywhere, possibility of using super fun and colorful yarns, stimulating knitting patterns, ideal for knitting in summer, in short, I have trouble understanding now why I was so reluctant initially 😂 I guess I have now to fill my sock drawer with pretty woolen creations! 😉

Bilan : mes premières chaussettes tricotées 🧦🧶

Cette année, je me suis lancé pour la première fois dans plusieurs projets de chaussettes. Même si je suis à plutôt l’aise techniquement niveau tricot, j’hésitais à entreprendre de telles créations : les quelques tutos YouTube de talon regardés me semblaient insurmontables 😅 Une fois cette appréhension passée, j’avoue avoir pris goût à ce type de projet : facile à transporter partout car petit, possibilité d’utiliser des laines super fun et colorées, tricot stimulant car avec des étapes de construction intéressantes, idéal pour tricoter en été, bref, j’ai du mal à comprendre maintenant pourquoi j’étais si réticente initialement 😂 plus qu’à remplir mon tiroir à chaussettes de jolies créations en laine maintenant ! 😉

Recap of my weekend in Bordeaux ! 🥰

It was my first time in this city of Gironde and I really liked it! The historical city centre is lovely ; we also had amazing food and wine at every meal with my boyfriend 😋 the only negative point is that restrained me in my visits to haberdasheries and wool shops around the city 😂

Petit récap de mon week-end à Bordeaux la semaine dernière ! 🥰

Première fois que je mettais les pieds dans la ville surnommé « le port de la lune » et j'ai beaucoup aimé ! Le centre-ville historique est charmant ; on a aussi super bien mangé et bu avec mon copain à tous les repas, une vraie ville de la gastronomie ! 😋 seul point négatif, m’a réfrénée dans mes visites des merceries et boutiques de laine de la ville 😂
