Let me tell you about a pair of laced up shoes I once had made.

They were black and whole cut with a high-shine finish and a sleek belgravia aesthetic. Classic, right? But here’s where it gets good: the soles were engraved with my initials in a script so elegant it could have come straight from the invitations to a secret gala.

The first time I wore them, I made the mistake of crossing my legs too high during a meeting, and someone caught the engraving.

“Are those…your initials on the sole?” they asked, somewhere between envy and disbelief.

I just smiled. “Well, yes,” I replied. “Where else would they be?”

Because that’s the beauty of custom details—they’re for you, but they never fail to leave an impression on everyone else.
